Yes, it's a battery-less passthru. There is a battery version coming soon, though, no idea if it will have a USB charge port.
I'd prefer with a battery, but without is more than doable especially for VV that will work with my existing stuff at $25. I did the notify me when they are in stock on both the stainless and the black, either color would be great as far as I'm concerned.
LotRO is a beautiful game, great story line (of course), excellent graphics if you have the graphics horsepower for it. Excellent for roleplaying. The music system is phenomenal. It also has the best "free" model going. But, since I like to PvP, my interest wanes after a bit.
Never got into anything other than the fantasy games... which is odd since I like SciFi.
Even without a lot of graphics power it's a very beautiful game. Certainly not going to disparage the story line either, just haven't had the time to really sit down and do it justice since it went 'free', so haven't done much but look around a bit.
If you like sci fi, when you have time to burn, give Eve a shot, in a genre known for semi clone after semi clone it's something different. Just please do all the tutorial missions if you do, it does not play like a traditional mmo, and take a bit of getting used to. I think far too many people try it, and run screaming because they can't figure out how it works.
MMOs are a huge time sink, though. Black hole, actually.
Now that is the understatement of the century. When I was playing I mainly kept it under control by playing multiple games. I know it sounds backwards, but it kept me from getting too focused on any one of them.
