I see. Thanks for the heads up. I've been looking forward to Vortex 2.0 as well. I think I'll still give the sapphire I try though. * fingers crossed *

I found it funny that the sapphire logo looks exactly like blu. From what I can tell, only one person called them on it and it was ignored...

Heh, I hadn't noticed that (never actually looked at Blu). Close, not exact, though. The "Bud" is a blue sapphire, the Blu is a blue light beam.

This company is one that I mentioned; check out the CV2, CV3, and the Superomizer: http://betterlifetech.com/Default.aspx?PN=products&TypeID=951&ItemIndex=3

Good question up from electricman at the Q board: QuitSmokingMessageBoard.com • View topic - FLAVORINGS-RELATED LUNG Disease

I don't have any answers, other than flavoring percentage is low, and that's it's not necessary to inhale vapor fully into the lungs.

ETA: the article he posted has to do primarily with Diacetyl, which we already know is harmful and isn't used anymore in e-liquid flavorings.

I am currently mulling over a reply to this as well....

EDIT: this is now done, not much to say since I too have little information about flavors other than Diacetyl and the few others that TFA notes as "questionable" on their website.

Check out the links to articles he posted, they are both regarding Diacetyl.

Yep, and most of what the CDC mentioned has been covered in the news due to the Jolly Time proximity in my hometown area.

Brings about another analogy about nitrosamines, which in large quantities can cause cancer, yet the FDA allows a certain percentage in foods, mostly cured meat (beef jerky). I haven't quit eating jerky yet either, but I suspect the salt would cause me to explode before I got enough nitros to affect me.

Could be rather serious

I was thinking more the type face. Short name, similar logos... I'm not a lawyer (and I don't even play one on TV), but it may cause some "confusion". Perhaps we're seeing the makings of a lawsuit?

I think the flavorings issue is really where the safety of vaping comes into question. I avoid any flavorings that contain diacetyl, but I'm relying on TFA and others honesty when it comes to the composition of their products.

I bought a couple of boxes of "The Vortex" and every single one of them I used {3} leaked.
I sent both boxes back and I'm still waiting for my money.
I'm sure it's coming soon!

On the issue of flavorings I don't use anything but food grade and I don't like butter or butter flavors so I don't really have any concerns about the whole "dangerous flavorings" issue.
If anyone has a better written answer for them I'd be happy to remove mine!:)
I haven't heard of anyone getting sick or dying from vaping whichever juice they use until then
I won't even be worrying about that stuff.

I agree, that's the Big Unknown(TM) at this point.

I held off on the Vortex because of all the negative reviews. That sucks about them holding your money hostage.

The only way I was able to get stuff (tanks) to work on the Darwin was with the flexible extension from Twisted. Best tank system I've used so far has been the GP SSR. Easy to change out CE2s, adjustable air draw, very little if any leak. My only gripe is on the tubing, it's a flexible soft plastic as opposed to something with more rigidity.
