Well that doesn't sound very promising...

It sounds like the center post isn't making contact, but you said you checked that. All of my devices have 510 threads so I've never used an adapter. Actually, I have a 510 to 510 on my Darwin. Helps with flooding and adds a bit of height in case I ever use a tank.

Thank you all so much for all the information on the cartomizers. That had been my impression, but after hearing about the 23 kathillionth Unprecedented Breakthrough in The History of Cartomizerhood, I thought I should probably double check with people who are not quite as loopy...

You're right, Sallie, the syringe method, which I have committed a couple of times getting ready for the blogrant, is not a good fit for me.

I found it to be more labor intensive and generally bulky than just squeezing juice into condoms and letting the cartomizers take sitz baths in them.

(I do have some adaptors, but they confuse me so I think I'm going to just hang onto them for now)

Why do you keep ignoring my attempts to contribute to the prize fund?

He keeps ignoring the paper doll collection, too.

I thought it might be a pattern emerging, but then I remembered yesterday he said he had turned eggplant so I suspect he may have gone outdoors without putting on his sunblock.

It would be so nice if melanin gave us a free pass, but it doesn't.

I'm seeing a pattern as well... :grr:

In the case of turning eggplant it was because he got into the ring and was thoroughly thumped.

I'm trying to get a friend started on vaping. She has a kit and a couple of juices (very graciously donated by some lovely folks), but she needs some tobacco juices, and I don't have any, since I don't care for them. If anyone has any tobacco juices that you no longer want and would like to donate to a new vaper, please let me know and I'll provide you with her address to send to her directly.

Also, if you have any recommendations for inexpensive and tasty tobacco flavor samplers that I could purchase for her (and which flavors to get), please let me know. I hear the VR tobacco vapes are good, but I don't know which ones to order. Money is tight, but I could probably swing a sample pack.

I will gladly send some Turkish Tobacco if you think they would like it. It's good stuff but I have more than I need. Just PM me the particulars.

edit: (24mg)

I didn't want you to buy those... *sighs shaking head......
Ok I just bought these myself and they work so well!
I'm surprised since I hate cartos.
These things rock and this was what the Vortex and Sapphires should've been I think.
Crystal Clear Vaping is the bomb imo there are threads touting how great this company is and their products right here on ecf.
If you want I'll send you a few of these Sall to try out.

Let me know by email.
15 Clear Dual Coils Carto Deal

Thanks C.B. Very generous offer. I think I'll place an order from them. I can get the Boge and the dual coils both from them. Been wanting to try them both out, now that there's a 510 in the house I can. :)

There is another option for cartos which might be a good fit for you. I got a few "drip tips" free with a recent hardware order. Found out these fit perfectly on cartos if you remove the rubber top bit. My wife prefers to use her 808 with this tip on it (better to chomp in her mouth while she folds laundry, etc).

Great side-effect is that you can, after filling a carto with the condom method, easily pop off the tip to "top off" the carto. She has fingernails, and could pry off the rubber tips if she needed to, but the drip tip is preferred. Does make the stick a bit longer, but doesn't bother her at all.

I found I could create a "hepburn stick" by connecting drip tip+510 carto+little adapter bit+XL 808 battery, this thing is nearly 9 inches long! Nate would be so proud! :)

My wife gets queasy when I use syringes for filling, so I've mostly switched to bottles with luer-lock caps and partially blunted needles. Very, very quick and easy.

("partially blunted" means I grind off the sharp point on the tip, but leave it angled a bit so it's easier to insert in the carto).

Does this preclude any need to top off the carto between syringe fills? I've been spinning my initial fill into the cartos (got a pair of lanyards in a starter kit, so its easy for me), then topping off every half hour or when it starts to dry out.

I never did any topping off. Once the performance starting dropping, I would either switch to a full carto or refill.

My "technique" was to use an 18 ga. needle, inserting it between the metal wall and the polyfill all the way to the bottom. I would then fill just until the liquid started to pool slightly on top of the polyfill. The needle takes up enough space so that the excess liquid is sucked back into the polyfill when you remove it. Since you're filling from the bottom, no "spinning" is needed, though it would help to clean out any excess.

You would need to blow out excess before using. I always put a condom on the battery end, but I've since read about a better way to do it is to insert something small like a toothpick into the center tube. This blocks liquid from getting into it during the fill. I never tried it but it makes sense.

This was on vertical coils, I've never tried a horizontal coil fillered carto.
