whispers Iowa too.........

whoa, whoa, whoa, now wait just a cotton picking minute here...

Wheres the dislike button when ya need it...

Up until all those Illinoians moved to Iowa it was just fine...when I moved to Texas I was 2 classes ahead in high school....

Of course I was one class ahead in Iowa...counting the AP classes...but still I knew farm raised kids with more intelligence in Iowa than here...nothing wrong with Iowa schools or general intelligence level when I left...and Iowa colleges a GPA was considered 1-2 points higher than colleges in other states...(at least they were before I left)

If they aren't now I blame the mass exodus from Illinois...Yup I said it...its Illinois and their Chicago way fault...

I honestly don't know how Magnus gets around the board as well as he does, I stick to only like 3 or 4 areas and that's pretty time consuming.

Gurus are us...Mad skillz...or maybe he's a Borg or Q in disguise...

Whew finally caught up again...between my head trying to explode(al better now...I hope)and my Wife's Birthday dinner I missed a good bit today...

and we are praying for ya Randy...just tink happy tawts....( yes I did that on purpose...I seem to remember a bit of mispronunciation in the movie)

Ok I tried to read all the way through but I kept having to stop and do other things and finally decidedif I read all the way through everyone would be offline by the time I posted if they aren't already... I did see some stuff about the contest, Miss lol's cartos and drama on "the board which must not be named"

@Magnus, your competition, run it your way, for your goals. There are always going to be competitions that not everyone can win, no need to feel guilty about it. Not like there are a shortage of "we'll pick a random entry" contests on here.

@ the group in general....
As to seo, and trying to drive the switching sub forum or any part of ECF up in the search results fro 'quit smoking forum', 'help quitting smoking' or any other keywords, all the necessary pieces are available in spades in this thread. My question, that might not make me the most popular guy here, is, has anyone asked the forum 'management', (mods/admins/owner), if they want that? Now technically their permission, and or blessing are irrelevant, and absolutely irrelevant as to if it can be done. They have zero control over how many articles, post, what havee you we put up all over the web with little blue links pointing back this way. Now, I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I've done enough to know that with enough time and effort you can make any page #1 in the search engine of your choice, for you choice of keywords, without any access to the site. (Yes, in some cases the effort required would make it border on impossible, but that's not the point.) The point is I would be very hesitant to feed search results and thereby traffic a site owner may or may not want without their blessing. That certainly ventures into the 'grey hat' area of seo, and in some cases is decidedly 'black hat'. I doubt that's the case here, no one is going to try to drive in completley unrelated traffic just to suck up server resources, and undoubtedly it would be better for people looking for support to quit smoking to find this forum rather than the qsmb, at least that's my not so humble opinion. The question is if thee people in charge here would rather stick to people specifically looking for e-cig information or would welcome droves of people just trying to quit.

Now if they would rather not, the simple answer is build a quit smoking site, include a forum, and plenty of links this way for anyone interested in using a PV to get off or stay off analogs. Id be half tempted to start the site, but I've all ready been toying with starting a site about e-cigs, and I'm not sure I have the time to give one site the attention it needs to make it work, much less two.

All that said, if it's something that does happen, and based on the contest Magnus is getting ready to run, I'm pretty sure he plans to make it happen, I can at least give a bit of direction, and instruction for basic seo techniques. Either here in the thread, in blog rants, or both, as Magnus pointed out earlier it's really not something you need to hide. The main ingredients are information, a decent ability to write clearly, and quantity. I'm pretty sure the people in this thread can provide all of the above with no trouble.

I would say I can donate bandwidth and server resources to the cause, but I'm thinking Magnus would just say "No" or ignore the post entirely.

Seriously though... I'd be more than happy to help in that regard.

See there is all kinds of activity while I sleep.... I think everyone is just hiding from me now. *pouts*

I'm here. I can't say it's much fun having a conversation with one's self though so I haven't posted much. If I did, I'm sure people would think I'm a bit touched.

A whole lot of the same...

SO IC... well I had one of those irritating/amusing computer moments today.

I'm installing an application on a 200 machine (or rather I think I am).

I click install

I get a message telling me "you can't install "X" because "X" is not installed. Please install "X" and run setup again?

WTH? I had to laugh.

Hi late nighters. Been on the road traveling all day and I am worn out. My boyfriend ran out to the local walmart to grab a couple of things and his kids are here with me in the hotel room speaking Japanese to each other and playing. I have no idea what they are saying. Lol. They live in Japan but are visiting the USA for the summer.

Magnus, I hope I didn't offend with my comment about your contest. You should run it however you wish. :)

Off to shower and hopefully sleep soon. Nite all!

Ugh..it's only about 400 degrees here with humidity at 2000%. I'm surprised I haven't melted. I had the brilliant idea of a "short nap" in cold, dark room - about 7 hours ago. Ooops. Now what. Coffee and a freshly filled G5? On second thought - maybe being a vampire during heat waves..works for me. Not sure it will work for my business/clients - but at the moment sounds really good to me.

I've only missed about 40 pages of posts..no biggie :D

Nate - I love Audrey Hepburn - she's fab! Shannon - you must work grave yard huh?

If I were you, I'd go back to that cold, dark room. 400 degrees and 2000% humidity sounds intense. Remind me to never visit Vape Town. :)

I read that as "I'm installing an application on 200 machines". 8-o

I'm surprised the computer didn't melt...
