I may need to rethink spiders. I like them... outside.
I opened a bedroom window last evening for some cool air and found not one, but
three juvenile black widows in the void between the glass and screen. I had similar results at another window. My eyes then traveled to the base boards. Without moving anything I found about 20 more along two walls. Most of them are tiny; probably hatched within the past few days. I didn't find any adults. The wife is freaking out and I can't say I blame her. She's really paranoid that one of the cats is going to get bitten while "playing" with one of them. The bedroom is off limits to the cats (due to my allergies) and I haven't found any outside that one room so I'm not too worried about it. I sprayed the ones I found with a combination of orange oil infused soapy water. They're dead now and I feel terrible.
This weekend I'm going to do a more thorough search for them and will be speaking to the landlord about getting proper screens, etc.
