I have a Lavatube, an EGO and a Volt kit with the longer, manual sealed batteries. I keep the Lavatube in it's case in my toolbox while I am at work. I hit it when I am taking a break sometimes and when the shop is not busy. Mostly, I keep one of the Volt e-cigs in my top pocket and one typically lasts me all day. I took a pocket clip from an ink pen and made it fit the Volt.
I have found that the Volt doesn't like cartomizers that ohm out over 2.6 ohms with regards to enough vapor for me personally. I will go thru the 5 packs of cartos and ohm each one for that personal, optimum ohm range. It looks no more out of place in my pocket than an ink pen would. Current favorite juice from them is their "Desert Joe". I was up to nearly 3 packs/day before I started vaping. Even sitting here at the computer with other mods in reach, I still find myself hitting the Volt for a change of pace.
When I decided to quit smoking, I started on the patch. I was on it for a week and really missed smoking. When I discovered the e-cigs, I was pretty happy that I didn't have to give up the act of smoking, regardless if it was not technically smoking. For this reason, I still find use for the Volt for it being a really good introduction going from nothing, to it. When I am fishing, I can reach into my top pocket for a vape between casts.
Comparatively, the Volt seems like it shouldn't put out the vapor that it does after holding a larger mod for awhile, but once I get that satisfying throat hit, regardless of the size of the cloud, I am reluctant to dismiss it or to not use it for all it's worth. Will I get another? Most likely, just for the times I have mentioned above. My friend dropped his analogs and lighter overboard here awhile back. It was nice to have a fresh, spare 808 in the tackle bag and he was digging it as well as opposed to doing without for the rest of the day.
I have found vaping to be a lot like eating. Sometimes all you need or have time for (think of all the cigs I have thrown with only 2-3 drags off it) is a snack. Other times only a full course will do. The 808 is my bag of chips, the Lavatube, steak and potatoes.
