Thanks for the link SambucaLu. The odd thing is that I saw complete starter kits listed on ebay like a week ago. I remember because I had not ordered my 901 yet, and thought I should check ebay just to be sure. I have only had my 901 since friday this week... The kit I saw listed on ebay was one that comes in a green and white box about the size of a pack of cigs. Looking back, I am glad I got the 901 instead.

So what gives? The posts in that thread are from Feb, and I still saw them listed (serching for e-cigarette) on ebay in March..?? Doesnt seem very consistent to me.

its a weird thing alright and I can't figure it out. some are removed, some are not. I'm trying to figure out what the difference is. Do they regard some as 'fakes'? is there a trademark issue? Have there been some complaints made by other suppliers - I don't know. but it seems randomish. likewise with the google adwords. we are hearing mixed reports, likewise with the FDA..its all a bit hmmmmmm.

I believe its a lot to do with the wording of the ads, as I still come across some (although they usually disappear within a day or two) that are trying to circumvent the TOS agreement changes.

Same goes with many other "for sale" sites.

It appears any that contain the words tobacco, nicotine, or smoking seem to get canned.

If you inquire to the site admins they state usually without detail that its been removed due to its TOS.

So if you look at the TOS I can only assume they've related them as such:

tobacco = no tobacco sales are allowed
nicotine = no drug sales are allowed

smoking = see above.

Thats my take anyways.....

This has been going on for weeks. Something about "FeeBay Drivebuys" I've been reading on a user blog there, ebay user esmoke51. I actually bought Smoke 51 stuff from him and the smoke-fifty-one store on ebay up until about a month ago. The auctions kept getting reported and removed - it sounds like the wild west, the way they put it. Even so they shipped me everything and I had it in 2 days. No problems. These guys were the only ones to have cartridges even when Smoke 51 didn't have them at a better price than 51 or LT. They stopped selling e-cigs themselves on ebay except for some signs and posters for a buck where all the $ goes to the American Lung Association. They sell Fifty One stuff on their site and probably have some relationship with them or LT I would guess. Is the ebay teapot a harbinger of the future?

Keep in mind eBay and PayPal are essentially the same company. So this issue is worth keeping tabs on. My gut feeling is it won't be long before PayPal bans the sale of nicotine/etc using its service. Private individual-to-individual sales there's nothing they can do about it of course, but a supplier openly using paypal as their payment method would be very easy for them to target.

Before anyone cries 'scaremonger', those of you who have been reluctantly using PayPal since the beginning have seen all sorts of bans already. Firearms, casino gaming, adult content, pharmaceuticals, you name it. I don't think it's too much of a stretch.
