I have a nice life insurance policy which I pay a very hefty premium for since I was a smoker. Almost double for that matter. It has been over 6 months now since I quit analogs. Will I pass a non-smokers blood test if I claim to be a non smoker? I am not sure what they look for in the blood but I assume it is a chemical other than nicotine?

Probably is for nicotine, though I'm not a Dr. Just had a renewal for one of my life ins. policies -- unfortunately the non-smoking form is actually not just smoking, it's explicitly stating no nicotine usage, so I'm hosed, though healthier, until I finally go 0 nic (no intent to do so right now).

That is why I hate insurance companies. But since nic is the easiest thing for them to test for that is what they do. Kind of sucks since it is not the nic that kills you.

Thanks for the post and info. I was wondering about that same thing the other day

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but nicotine is not good for your either. You may have saved yourself from Lung Cancer or another lung disease of some sort, but you are still at higher risk for High Blood Pressure and Heart Problems if you are using nicotine. I am not trying to take the wind out of anyone's sails, just trying to keep everyone informed!! Happy Vaping!!

P.S. By the way, I do not think the insurance companies should have any screening for life insurance except to check for terminal disease. I mean people do all sorts of things that are bad for them. Is the insurance company going to monitor your salt intake next?? Maybe adjust your premium according to your weight?? I mean overweight people are more likely to have health problems right? Where will the line be drawn for government and insurance companies to stay out of our personal lives??!! It is ridiculous!!!!!!!
