I will definitely agree that a picture is worth a thousand words. But, speaking of words....Let us not forget that the choice of words can be equally as powerful. When we say electronic cigarette, many people only hear the word cigarette. And, as we all know, it is a word that is associated with negative connotations. If we say personal vaporizer, some people automatically think of marijuana, as Superstargoddess pointed out. So, I ask you to think about how powerful words can be and how everyone has their own idea of what each word means to them. I don't know what the solution to this dilemma is, but it is something that I ponder on often. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, just like when I was at a college bar last night and had to explain it to a bouncer that hadn't seen me with it yet. I made sure to say "E-cigarette" even though we call it a PV here, because I know that if I would have said "Personal Vaporizer" he would have probably been like "You can't smoke pot in here!".

My friend and I were talking about that after the bouncer walked away. I was like "I don't think that most people even think that this is an e-cig most of the time, I think that they are thinking that it's sort of a pop smoking device."

oh im with you on that. smartest thing bush ever did in his 8 years was laugh at and then walk away from the kyoto accord. nobody else would ever comply with it, knowing we would, and be held to the standards while china, india, and russia continue to spew out massive pollutants into the atmosphere.

the earth has survived far worse things than us living on it. green organizations should be more honest and not say that were destroying the earth, but we are destroying our ability to live on it. that i can believe. not global warming or any of that other hooey.

Nothing about the term "green" is valid. Green is a much bigger myth than dangerous e-cigs.

I agree with you there. Heck, eventually the earth or sun is going to explode anyway, I'm sure that we can't prolong that situation for that long! Maybe the green people should worry more about trying to control those devastating Tsunamis out there! Maybe they can make a weather control decide that will save millions of lives!

Scaralouche- I agree with you about global warming. It has been far cooler in the last several summers than it has ever been. I don't know where they are getting this crap from.

Don't get me wrong. I am all for an effort to clean up pollution and energy waste. We should be good stewards of our resources. I just deny that any of the climate change that is happening now is Man Kinds fault.

Lets do the research and develop alternate energy sources. Just don't do it to the detriment of the world economy. There is a lot of disinformation out there about climate change just like what ASH is doing. A very close parallel in my mind. Perception is the enemy of the truth.

One of the funniest and tragic (depending on your point of view) situations I ever encountered was visiting a supposed recycling plant in Florida...other than metal, all else was carried to a landfill. Now, living in my homestate of Ohio, there is no recycle program in many residential areas and apartments where Rumpke hauls out the trash. Even if I seperate and throw things in different bins...everything ends up in the back of the truck. Number 1 source of plastic trash....individual disposable water bottles.

It's amazing how things have progressed. When I was a boy you only got sodas in returnable glass bottles. I can only guess how much of our crude oil consumption goes to making those plastic water bottles. They only address our energy consumption as miles per gallons in our cars. There are many other things we use crude for that are a total waste.

Oh I don't believe the bs, but I still think its a good idea to recycle batteries, reuse parts, etc. I take scraps from my little projects (woodworking and house stuff) and reuse them wherever possible. It just makes sense to take the extra few minutes :D

That's what I call practical usage. Those odds and ends come in handy! I always have little projects going for creative bursts of energy.:D

All that article was, was a opinion piece by somebody promoting their website. But they probably are as green as Kermit The Frog ;)

Oh, I realize opinion pieces are not typically newsworthy. But I do think that it only helps to point out another advantage of ecigs that we can use. The more people that we can get to listen, learn and help us promote them, the better. Green people usually are not smokers, so that is a whole segment of the population that we are able to gain support from by touting the green benefits of ecigs over analogs. They and many others will respond better to those benefits than to the fact that it is less harmful to smokers than analogs.
