Hi there popsec. I also live in Vermont and saw that article. Pretty generic and brief and of course the obligatory:

"What's remarkable is the lack of evidence that these products are any better than standard smoking cessation treatments," says Dr. Michael Thun, of the American Cancer Society."

E-Cigarette Controversy - WCAX.COM Local Vermont News, Weather and Sports-

And the link at the bottom was to InLife. Their prices are absurd!! 8-o

No, Dr. Thun, what's really remarkable is the fact that the American CANCER Society isn't testing these devices themselves. I mean, here we have a device that has the potential to save lives and instead of embracing this potential, and leading the effort to explore the potential, the ACS (and ALA) are helping the people that would like to see these banned.

People donate millions of dollars each year to these organizations with the expectation that their money will be used to explore innovative new treatments and preventative measures. The ACS has the resources to test these devices and their research could very possibly result in a huge decrease in smoking related cancer deaths. But no, they'd rather sit there with their thumbs up their asses and talk about what hasn't been done and what hasn't been proven.

I believe the ALA and ACS are almost completely funded by tobacco taxes. So when a product works this good it means you lose your job, and your bonuses and your kickbacks and your hushmoney and the private jet and the beach house. I think you get the drift.

I loved this one, overall. Beside the fact the story began with the announcement that Ecigs are a cessession device, a claim we know we dare not make,,, the featured vapor seemed like a regular guy who really likes vaping. Images like this, are just the kind of thing I like to see. No glamour, no glitz,,, just a retired man who's trying to enjoy his golden years.

This guy is demonized with the rest of us as a drag on the health care system. I'm happy for him, and I'm glad he feels it's helping him. It's helping me, too.

I was amazed to see a pretty good news story from WCAX on e-cigs here in Vermont. Unfortunately at the bottom of the piece they had a "find out more" link that was actually a site that sells them :nah:

LOL - I love that the info link is a place that sells them - That's like a green light from the legal department at the station there - Any reasonable person can see that they are not harmful and worth recommending to Adult Smokers :pop: This is gonna get interesting!
