Part of me thinks this is cool, but part of me wonders just how useful it really is. For starters I don't carry a PCC. Even if I did, would it vibrating 50 feet near a vapor really give me the ability to find them? Especially if the place is crowded, like a festival or concert.

Maybe. It would let you know to start looking for the LED.

"The reusable packs, which serve as a charger for the cigarettes, can be set to exchange information about their owners, like contact information on social networking sites, that can be downloaded onto personal computers."

Oh, god. We're only moments away from finding out that the Blu has an encrypted file which tracks every place the owner has been.

I found this Really Funny!

“You’ll meet more people than ever, just because of the wow factor,” said Jason Healy, the founder of Blu, who did not appear to be making friends as he exhaled the odorless vapor of an e-cigarette at a coffee shop in Midtown Manhattan recently. “It’s like with any new technology.”

I do have a Big problem with these devices.

Will there be an off switch for privacy? What other data will these things transmit? They have the potential for abuse big time. There are RFID chips so tiny now you will never know they are in your product and they can transmit tons of personal data on your locations, shopping habits. Even credit card information can be passed between chip to chip without you knowing it ever. These devices start off innocent looking enough but they can quickly evolve into the stuff of nightmares.

It's Big Brother from the book 1984. I would not trust anything with an RFID chip of any kind.

Here is some more info on these things. spychips.com - how RFID will compromise privacy, security, freedom
