Folks... just a little food for thought... With a few billion people
on this Earth... hearing, seeing or reading articles implying we are SMOKING
electronic Cigarettes.
.. the fact, at present, is NO MATTER how often
we attempt to share the (misty) message our
product is not the normal DEADLY CIGARETTE they are use to
seeing SMOKE curling in the air from... and is a great danger to all...

It seems to me that a GREAT solution to a major problem in
and or promoting our products could begin with a simple NAME change

Making the change of keeping our products away from being
identified as a Cigarettes..
. We are NOT SMOKING ANYTHING, period!
Lets not give the World.... a chance to think we SMOKE CIGARETTES....

Just a little food for thought...

Any ideas?

The more we use "personal vapor device" (pvd) and "vaping" terms, and identify ourselves as ex-smokers, the better off we'll be. There will always be the determinantly stout anti-smoking crowd/campaign that will never be detoured from their misperceptions, but the majority of the populace can be swayed if we campaign (as hard if not harder) using terminology to re-educate them. Sine real change starts at home, it's vital that we use exclusive (verses inclusive) terms that we firmly believe in to further distance ourselves from the perception of smoking. For example, even though the EFC is absolutely FANTASTIC, its' name really should be the "PVF".

I think P-vape is fine.

Unfortunately the whole reason I tried e-cigs was because they were called just exactly that, e-cigs. I was missing smoking (always did miss it) and I used to say to my friends, "I'm not an anti-smoking Nazi now that I quit. In fact, if anyone ever came out with a safe cigarette, I'd be THERE." Then (in a way), someone did.

I feel the majority of vapers are former smokers. Comparatively few (very few), from what I've seen, never smoked at all and then suddenly said one day, "Hey, what have I been missing not putting something non-air-like into my lungs, let me try a vape." So it's a Catch-22 because most people go to vaping as a substitute for smoking...yet calling it anything cigarette-ish makes it gross and appalling and icky to non-smokers, so...

Not sure what the solution is there.

The reason I am vaping is because they were called e-cigs. I would not be vaping if it was brought up to me as vaping.

I tried low tar smokes at one point. It was working as I went down in tar level. They were awful though. Then I was 1 month smoke free. Dangit if I wasn't stupid enough to go back smoking. They were hard to find. I had only found them at one gas station in a 20 mile radius. When I did go back they had stopped selling them because no one bought them.

You might wonder why this thread is not getting a lot of replies yet...

It's because we've been down this road around 57 times.
Not that you shouldn't have posted it, because you really could be right.
:)

There is a strange dichotomy at work here...

We want to distance ourselves from smoking and cigarettes because that's the whole point.
But we also want to bring more cigarette smokers into the fold by showing them that this is a viable alternative.

In other words, yeah, maybe.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
New game called...

Is he drunk?
Or is he English?

If anyone wants to respond, you'll find me hiding under my bed sheets.

Having said that (for a bit of fun) I have a lot of respect for David Dorn.
He is a vaping pioneer.
:)

I know what part of England he's from and he's definitely a lot of fun.
