As a Plan B for the situation where e-Cigarettes don't get banned?

A 135 Million Dollar Plan B? LOL

At the time Lorillard acquired Blu, there was No Chance that e-Cigarettes would be Banned in the USA.

And the Old say'n applied(s)... "If you Can't Beat Them. Join Them."

Owning an ecigarette brand gives BT that product when they are at the FDA table. Without a dog in the fight so to say they really havent a thing to add concerning them.

Also as mentioned the cost for them is a pittance that they will write off if it goes sour so little risk. Lastly, by continuing to pump out crappy cigalikes they are effectively discouraging folks from switching to vaping. Delaying a million smokers a year is over a billion dollars in revenue so just by putting a crappy product out in front for the public to dismiss spending 135 million dollars is like a good advertizing campaign.
