I've been using the e-Go-T for a little over a month and both atties have developed a burnt taste/smell to them. I've poured over all the threads and have run 95% Ethyl Alcohol through them. A few tiny black flecks came out so I did that until it flushed clean then I allowed them to fully dry. One is alright, the other not so much. One thing that I did notice is that when I'm pressing the button I tend to hold it around the metal band and I'm blocking the 'air holes'. This is causing the unit to get hot a lot faster and am wondering if this is what has caused the burny stinky smell/taste.

What do you all think??

Try boiling water for cleaning the atties. Soak in boiling water in a bowl or glass (and make sure all air bubbles are out of the atty. Then scoop water through it to try to flush it. I hold the atty with a plastic tongs. Then I shake/blow out the the atty then soak in pure grain alcohol overnight. You can use isopropyl but remember it is poison - make sure atty is totally dry before using

I don't like attys. I like using Boge cartomizers on my 510-threaded devices. I use the standard resistance so my slim 510 can use them too, but many prefer the hotter LR ones.

All attys start to develop a build up of stuck-on juice on the coil (the heating element). It will also start to build up on the wick next to the coil and prevent it from wicking properly. When you run the atty dry, the build up on the coil will turn to ash and you will get a burnt taste. It sounds like you just need to clean your attys better, and more frequently.

Also with your eGo-T, tilt it toward the ground when you are puffing on it, and in between puffs, so that gravity helps feed the coil with juice. When not in use, leave them laying flat so that the juice doesn't keep flowing down between the atty and battery.
