e-juice additives

I know there was some discussion as to whether or not you absorb nicotine or not when vaping. I'm pretty sure you do, I suffer physical withdrawal symptoms, which I don't have when vaping. But I'm wondering about other things.
I got some juice from Vapor Renu that had caffeine in it. I couldn't really tell if it did anything for me, but I do drink alot of caffeine, so it's hard to tell. I just bought some with caffeine and B-12. Does anyone know whether you really absorb these or not? If amy one is interested, they also have other stuff like vitamin C, Ginkgo Bola, green tea and other stuff. I son't even know what most of that is supposed to do, much less if it really does anything.
Thoughts?

You definitely absorb nic, though at a lower rate than smoking, per puff!

I don't know about the additives you listed. However, I do have a severe corn allergy. When I vape something that has a corn derivative, I definitely have a reaction. I diy and am very careful what suppliers I use now. But at first, I didn't realize how careful I needed to be on the exhale! I spent a lot of money on dermatologist bills (horrid swelling, severe rash, dry skin all around the sensitive skin area of the eyes) to figure this out. So, if the vapor was absorbed in my eyelids, causing the reaction, in a bad way....have to wonder if the opposite is true. I wish studies would be done, but I imagine real scientific studies are years away.

Wow, I never would have even thought that would be a problem. But I agree, if you could absorb enough corn to cause an allergic reaction, you must be absorbing the rest. Glad you were able to figure out what the problem was and that you can work around it. I'm hoping the B-12 will give me a boost. I figure, nicotine, caffeine, and B-12, that should be a good pick me up!

My first thought is you need to proof your posts. LOL! JK. I think if you want all those supplements you should just ingest them. They are meant to be taken that way. There's a reason why we don't take a sip of nicotine when we want our nic fix. Nicotine, being a poison, would make us sick if ingested. Thus, we vape the nicotine, which is a way to get nicotine into our body without making us sick.

Let me guess Scott, you're a retired teacher. LOL! I do see your point for most of the additives like Ginkgo Bola, green tee, etc.
But I think vaping caffeine and B-12 along with your nicotine seems like a good idea. I'm sure that in the evenings you'd probably want something without caffeine, but first thing in the morning I need all the nicotine and caffeine I can get!

You have to look at the combustion/vaping temps of the the caffeine. I heard it was higher than what a PV uses.

Herbal and vitamin supplement are the same way. Using chamomile and kava kava as a sleep aid you have to realize the boiling point of the oil in kava kava is super low. Even with water temps below boiling the essential oils are transferred away with the steam so at temperatures which might extract the oils from chamomile you'd be wasting the kava kava you used. The same would be true with mixing stuff into your nic juice.

LMAO!!! I'm not a teacher, nor am I retired. I'm actually a dialysis tech and a nursing student.

I love the question you posed Victory.
Whole heartedly agree with Scott. I grow plants and herbs, and have used my own in home made (tea & supplements) extracts for many years. Although there are other methods, the basic extraction method uses heat... they have to reach a certain temperature to release their essential oils, unless they are cold-pressed, which is an entirely different animal.
JFYI, drinking alcohols like vodka are used in preservation processes. Many don't like alcohol-preserving methods however, and will opt out for cold-pressed, which will end up in distilled water base.
And I think he's mentioning your spelling of Ginko biloba---perhaps you just saw it wrong when doing your research on this tree-leaf? ;)

Slightly old thread, but just based on my quantitative research based solely on my own observations I do notice the effect of caffeine in vapor renu juice. I have gotten redbull with 60mg caff and kickstart with 100mg caff. It does not really give a caff high, but as an all day vape after all nighters it keeps me going and going and going. I only drip it now though, because I don't trust myself with it in a 3mL carto any more lol.

I also find plain high nic to be stimulating as well, but sometimes too much vaping actually makes me tired. However, this does not happen with the caff + nic combination.

Overall I would say the caff adds maybe a 20% increase in alertness when compared to just nic. For the casual user its a novelty, for me as a college student its my placebo effect that keeps me from attempting to mess around with other "study related stimulants".

If i have to write a ten page paper in 6 hours I grab my bottle of kickstart and it helps! Or at least I believe it does and thats all that matters to me!
