From my understanding, juice is comprised of VG and/or PG, Nicotine (if desired) and flavorings. If this base is common to all juices, is there such a thing as having a superior base?
Hello that is a matter of opinion. Nicotine comes in a base of PG or VG or both. I use 100% VG in all of my liquids, because PG doesn't agree with me. Most folks do e liquids of a 50/50 ratio of PG and VG.
water would be used to thin mostly vg blends, as they can be thick and can slow down wicking to the coils. Usually its a drop or 2 per ml of juice.
vodka or pure grain alcohol (pga) is used to add a touch of throat hit, it can also help thin out the thicker vg juices.
I dont use either in my diy, but I also cant vape high vg due to an intolerance to vg. Its odd to have it but I do, so most of my blends are 70pg/30vg, or 65/35, my wife likes 50/50 no water/vodka needed for hers as well.
It is personal preference, though there are some people who have a sensitivity to either PG or to VG. When I buy juice I will usually get 50/50 or maybe 30/70 pg/vg. When I mix it at home, my nicotine base is in VG only, and I may or may not add any PG when diluting it and adding flavorings. I have never added water nor alcohol, either.
