E-Juice Question

I have read that when first starting with PV (mine better arrive today or tomorrow...LOL), most people try to match what they were originally smoking with analogs and then branch out to other flavors. I have been looking at the flavors at many sites, my the variety! My question is this....if there is a flavor of something that you really dislike in real life, like say coffee, will you dislike it in vapor as well? Does it come through the same. Because the truth be known, I dislike coffee anything and am hesitant to try anything like that right now. I have ordered a few e-juices to get started and the cherry/strawberry/grape on my disposable was not bad. Do you simply stick to things that would interest you anyway in food, etc.?

I mostly play it safe and use menthol as my favorite juice. I've tried others such as cloves and red bull and to my surprise they have all tasted very similar to the real product. Not to say it's better or worse, but the flavor is surely there. I remember the red bull leaving an awful taste, though it tasted just like red bull - hard to explain I guess.

Interesting.....my orders pending currently for e-juice are exactly the same....several variants on menthol brands and strengths to try to find something I like. I was eyeballing some Atomic Cinnacide though. : ) Will let you know what happens.

I saw one brief notation about cinnamon and vanilla flavors being "bad" for you....is there any merit to this?

I would say it depends on the person. For example, I hate real bubblegum, can't stand to chew the stuff, period. But, Got ahold of some strawberry Bubblegum flavor and it hit the spot with me off the bat, can't get enough of it.

Best thing would be small samplers and just taste your way thru things, some flavors that you think you won't like might actually be your favorites.

Sometimes works the other way around. I love coffee but have not found a coffee eJuice that I like. Same goes for some other flavors I've tried.

I think it depends on how much you hate coffee.

I am a coffee hater (though I can stand a coffee buttercream candy, and enjoy Kahlua&milk). Some non-tobacco flavors I find satisfying are chocolates and vanillas and caramels. I find creamy coffee flavors are ok (tiramisu etc) but have no particular attraction for me (though if my tiramisu juice had a strong liquor flavor in it like the way I like real tiramisu, then maybe I would like the tiramisu juice better.) I would not mind a Kahlua juice but I haven't see one. I almost wish I liked coffee because coffee-lovers seem to really enjoy coffee e-liquids.

BTW - the way I eased from pure tobacco flavors to non-tobacco was accidental. In the beginning I had to have tobacco ejuices. Vaping fruit ejuice gave me a craving for an analog as if I had eaten. So I used tobacco juices. I started adding a bit of chocolate or vanilla ejuice to my tobacco cart just to change up the flavor during the day. I also got a vanilla caramel tobacco I adore (FreedomSmokeUSA oRYental 4 - their sweet caramelly RY4). So I started using that both alone and to add a bit of sweetness to other tobaccos when I wanted a bit of sweet. I found a vanilla I like (Backwoods Brew Vanilla Bean) and ended up using that to flavor my tobacco cart so much that I am now mainly vaping the vanilla and sometimes the oRYental, occasionally adding chocolate ejuice for variety.

Not everyone tries to match what they smoked to an e-liqud. So glad I didn't try cause it wouldn't have been possible. As far as other flavors go, I wouldn't start out spending money on flavors I don't like in food or drinks. Start out with sticking to flavors that you do like as food and drink but understand that they may not taste the same in the juice you purchase. Even the same flavor by two different vendors can taste very different because they use flavoring by different companies or tweak it slightly different. If you really don't like coffee in real life than don't purchase coffee flavor right now. Later on you may have a chance to sample some and find its not that bad but leave that to later. Good Luck!!

Sampling is the best option. Try a wide variety of things and you may be surprised at what you like and don't like. There are some things you should never, EVER try from what i have read on here and various reviews around the web. Flavors like Bacon or BBQ Ribs, or probably any kind of meat flavor. Most people agree that vaping meat sucks, but people make those flavors if that is your thing.
