Hi All,

Great to be here - virgin post, so go easy on me. :D

Question...I have been vaping for awhile and currently am using the ProTank mini, which I really like. However, I have a couple of e-liquids that have a very "plastic," artificial kind of taste.

I am currently, steeping them to see if it improves and wanted to know if there are any additional suggestions or input?

The liquids may just be a bust, but before I gave up, I just wanted to run it past some folks.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I also use Pro tanks with my Ego-C twist, and I do have issues with some of my liquids as well. I have been vaping for over 6 months and I find that for me, the juices that work best with the coils are the ones that have a higher PG level, like 70pg and 30 vg, because the VG will somehow clog my coils.. I don't know if its just me, but I'm new to it and I am looking for answers as well, but I have to post 5 times here first lol. Or maybe its just the flavors you have, like for example, I really like the chocolate mint from Cool Vape in BC, but then the choco mint from Ejuice and Maple leafs sucks, it doesn't taste like chocolate mint but more like mint toothpicks if you know what I mean. I think its more from who and where you order your juices, and the PG-VG ratio. Hope that helps a little

Welcome to ECF!

Steeping won't hurt, just leaving them in a cool dry place. I "air" my liquids too, squeeze (gently) the old air out the bottle and replace with fresh air (I do this daily, unless I forget, which is often!)

You could remove the cap overnight and leave the lot somewhere safe and see if that helps.

I'm not an expert, but you could try further steeping and airing and see if it helps. Can't hurt.

Oh, and shake em' a lot!

Hope you crack it!

Are your juices fruits, tobaccos or chocolats ?

Fruits need no steeping...chocolats...sometimes up to three days. Tobaccos neeed steeping...up to a month.

A plastic taste sounds pretty bad.....almost like they are over mixed (too much of any one flavor will make juice taste perfumy or chemical like and you cant do anything about it)

Take the cap off for a couple days and see if that helps, if it doesnt, use it to kill insects on tomoato plants this year.

Good luck.

One more thing... plastic bottles "can be" bad to "leach" if juice is left in there too long. Ive gotten to the point where I use nothing but glass bottles or glass vials. Just a suggestion.

Hey Kh888,
Welcome to the ECF neighborhood,
If it is not a knock off PT mini, it may be the juice in the shipping container. Some "juice cracker" flavors tend to take on a plastic taste from the bottles they are shipped in. If it is juice from "The Vapor Company, Shark Juice" well is "screwed from the get go"......IMHO
My only nit pick with the PT mini II is the small "stainless" taste from the drip tip.

Well, based on your comments, it could be the liquid itself

It kind of sounds like the juice isn't that good but you might want to leave the cap off your bottle for a few days. I know some vendors was alcohol to cut their juice so if you let that evaporate the true taste of the juice comes shinning through. Just a thought, give it a go. Besides if the juice tastes like plastic now, what do you have to loose.

I am so new (today I bought my first two setups with the help of a kind moderator and dozen members and a blog by BADITUDE. SO I am not making like I know ANYTHING, but I read that "juice ages like fine wine" and "tea seeps". Since I had NO idea what "seeping" meant beyond the water coming up through the concrete in my patio room, I had to ask and that was the answer I got. A tiny bit of info and a tiny attempt at 'humor'. SO maybe you need to 'age that juice' with the lid off, in a dark quiet place so it remains calm and serene? Oh that bad humor. :(

Now here I thought when it came to the juice I just bought it and used it! More on the learning curve for me. My first juices are the new guys quest to find tobacco. Like I have read, "Good Luck Tom - Good Luck". I settle for a taste that is not too sweet and if it comes close to bitter I'll tell my mind to hush and just learn that this is now tobacco from a bottle. So far - I can't tell what this "RY4" I bought today is (also got '555' and 'Virginia' and "Red Tobacco' to try)but I think I like it pretty well. Maybe it was already 'steeply-aged'? Bad try at humor again. Sorry. I should stop NOW.

Good luck!

Tom
