ok I am a new vaper and have been vaping for about a week with my new intellicig evo. I ordered some of Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured 11mg PG and am totally dissapointed. It barely produces any vapor and the taste isn't all that great.

I really don't want to muck up my first impressions of e-liquid (since my pre filled carts were doing just fine) so I am on the market for new e-liquid. Something that produces tons of vapor and has good throat hit (doesn't necesarily have to rip my throat out but still make me feel like I'm not smoking air).

I just want to buy the e-juice since I have no interest in DIY liquids.

Have read up on ecopure and it sounds nice but I don't want to make another mistake.

Any recommendations? I don't want to depend on using the intellicig prefilled carts:(

P.S. I am having a hard time vaping with a cart once I have filled it myself (I've seen all the videos). Any ideas why?

Thanks in advance.:D

Check the E-Liquid Review forum, lots of good reviews on brands and individual flavors.

What happens when you try to vape from a cart you've filled yourself?

If you get little vapor and a gurgling noise, you're probably over-filling your carts and flooding your atomizer. Replace the filled cart with an empty one, and keep vaping until your atomizer clears.

If you're getting a nasty burned taste, you're probably underfilling your carts. Add more liquid to the cart, and put a drop or two of liquid directly on the atomizer as well.

Could also be a problem with your filler - too much, not enough, old and no longer wicks liquid properly, etc...

I am using the same filler they came with (took them out, washed them, dryed them and put them back in). When i dip and vape with an empty mouth piece it is superb, but when I use a cart I find it very hard to keep the LED on (just tried it with a fresh battery to make sure). No throat hit either.

Hmm, I'm not too familiar with automatic batteries... but if they're not lighting up, you must have a problem with airflow? You may need to replace your filler, it gets old and sort of compacted after awhile, and washing doesn't really help. Possibly you've got liquid pooling at the bottom of the cartridge and cutting off airflow - do you ever get liquid in your mouth when you draw?

The straw mod might help... it increases airflow to some extent... but if your battery isn't even lighting up, I'm not sure that will fix the problem. Worth a try, though, I suppose...

I think you have a couple of problems. First, throat hit and consistent vapor is affected most by two factors: warmer vapor and nic strength. 11mg strength will not give much if any throat hit for most vapors. I suggest you try 24mg in a flavor you like but also have some 11mg of the same flavor. If the 24 is too much, then mix it with the 11 in a proportion that works for you. 50% 24 and 50% 11 will give you 17mg.

On warmer vapor, you must have a manual PV to control how warm the vapor is and thus better throat hit. For your second PV I would suggest one of the following: 510, MANUAL DSE901, Prodigy, Screwdriver, GG, Janty Stick, etc.

wv2win - it's strange that you said that bc i always got throat hit and consistent vapor with the prefilled carts. But I understand what you mean and I had my eye on the 510 for my next device. overall I am not dissatisfied with my evo, just with the juice and the air flow problem.

JerseyGirl - I think you nailed it with the overfilling thing. the thing is that I've been filling a couple of carts using a syringe (just to experiment) instead of using a dropper like it is shown on the videos for the evo and i totally forgot about it! so i got a cart i refilled with a dropper and the drag was much easier and i got a bit more vapor. so I'll be experimenting and weeding out all the possibilities.

still trying to shake off my newbieness :p

Thanks to the both of you!

I like EcoPure. Good vapor and taste. Then again, I also like JC Tenessee Cured. I don't have any problems with vapor on my EVO. It is one cart I don't fill with a syringe however. Here's what I do:

  1. Pull out the filler with tweezers.
  2. Swab the inside with a cotton swab to remove old juice.
  3. Drip 4-6 drops in the cart (however much brings to 1/8th to 1/4 inch from the top).
  4. Slowly push the filler down into the cart letting it absorb the juice. Don't push it too fast or the juice will start seep out.
  5. Push the filler lower than the top of the cart to soak the top part and pull it back up to just a hair or two below the top.
  6. Drip 1-3 drops on the top until you see it create a small pool.
  7. Dip the atty in the pool and watch it soak up the juice.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 once more. If there's any juice left pooled (very moist is ok - just not pooled) dab it off with a tissue.
  9. Re-assemble the EVO. Take a couple long (less than 5 second) primer puffs and you're good to go.
  10. VAPE!

Hope this helps! :)

Evo works best with Ecopure - they go hand in hand. PG liquids are runnier (especially JC) and will wick too fast for the unit to keep up. That said, I have an old formula bottle of TC that I just thicken up with VG and it works fantastic. There is absolutely no need to mod an EVO/m40x cart as they wick completely dry.
