Hi guys! I just wanted to post a problem I'm having with some e-liquids to see if anybody recognises it...

I'm usually very happy with the fruity flavours provided by a small local supplyer. Nice velvety smooth taste, good vape. I'm especially fond of his watermelon, orange, kiwi, mango and pineapple liquids.

I was running low so I ordered a new batch. The new batch came in the day before yesterday and I filled up my AGA-T2 with pineapple juice. I was surprised to find a very sharp taste, very harsh throat hit, and no vapor cloud whatsoever when I exhaled. It does produce vapor, but it seems to simply dissolve in my lungs. Doubting myself, I took out the pineapple, cleaned the atty, put in orange from the new batch - same problem. Sharp taste, harsh throat hit and magically disappearing vapor.

So I cleared out the orange, cleaned the atty again, and filled it up with some mango that I had left from the previous batch. Immediately I had the old vaping experience back: nice rich cloud of vapor, smooth taste, nice throat hit.

So it's not my AGA-T2 bugging, it's definitely the new batch of vapor that's somehow different than the old batch. Does with some e-liquid knowledge recognise these symptoms - sharper taste, huge throat hit and vapor that simply disappears before you exhale it? I've been in touch with my supplyer and he's not sure what's wrong with the liquids. He'll obviously be doing some testing of his own to find the bug but if somebody here recognises it we don't have to re-invent the wheel. :)

Sounds to me like you got a high PG mix with very little VG.

There is no right or wrong with this, it's just a matter of preference. I mix mine at 50/50, others will like 80/20 PG/VG while others might like 100% VG. It's just a matter of tweaking the e-liquid to suite yourself.

Basically VG gives off more vapor while PG gives a sharper throat hit.

    Definitely what tj said.

Although, I have this one flavor in particular that doesn't seem to want to produce the same level of clouds as the rest of my juices. I vape only 100% VG, so it's kind of the odd ball in the bunch. Still tastes great, killer TH, just less vapor. *shrug*

My only advice there would be to A.) Let it steep 2+ weeks and revisit. B.) Goto the supermarket and pick up some USP Food-grade VG to mix in (although the flavor would diminish by diluting) or C.) Both of the above.

Well, the juices I use in a PROPERLY set up genesis atty or even a dripper, at 100% VG give an amazing throat hit.
It's hard to not have good TH with the amount of vapor my setups produce, ya know, sub-ohm, fat ribbon wire, drilled airholes...18mg BTW, that helps a bit.

There are many factors too, a simple knock or small drop/bang to that AGA, and she could of revealed a hotspot/exposed fresh metal, putting you back at square one.
I've done that too. Grab a dripper to test juices in to see if they make the cut for a whole genesis tank, and to also deduce a problem with a juice/setup.

It's also quite possible that you have burnt a hole in your wick or have a hot spot on your coil. My first RBA was an AGA-T2, and I know that can happen. There were times I was vaping along quite contentedly, and suddenly it would get real nasty with me. I'd have to re-coil it and work out the hot spots to get it back to vaping right. The AGA-T2 can be a bit persnickety compared with an RSST, which is now my main atty.

If you JUST got the juice, and you tried it right out of the mail, it may need to steep for at least a week.
That said, some vendors just aren't consistent. That's why a lot of people do it themselves, so they know exactly what they are getting.
There is one particular vendor who is very popular on this forum, and I can't see why they are so popular other than their prices. Their juice is literally either decent or awful. One order, the juice is good and performs well. The very same order a couple of weeks later is terrible. So, keep that in mind too.

I don't think that's the issue because when I put in Dekang liquid, it vapes well... I might go and get a dripper so I can test liquids before filling up the AGA-T2. It's definitely an awesome atty though. I've now gone over two weeks with it and it's still vaping like new (apart from these apparently "faulty" liquids). I've had to swap the coil head on my Vision STV Nova twice in the same period...
