I am using a Joye 510 with drip tip to sample some 24 mg juice with 50/50 PG/VG. I am typically used to vaping 12 mg juice with 90/10 PG/VG.

What I have noticed on these samples is that there is a VERY strong TH. Is that normal? Does the strength of the nicotine play any part in the amount of TH perceived?

I understand getting so much more vapor. I just don't understand getting a much stronger throat hit?

98% of throat hit comes from two elements: warmth of the vapor which becomes better and more consistent with 5 volt or variable volt PV's and nicotine strength. Additives such as PGA may amount to a modest increase in the 2% range. Additives such as pepper don't add TH IMO but just irritate the mouth/throat which is NOT the same as good TH.

Nicotine is a skin irritant and is the largest part of TH
Warmth adds to TH
Some flavors can add their own throat sensation
Some companies seem to have more peppery tobaccos or may add hit additives like alcohol or Qhit
PG let through the most harshness and TH of nicotine and flavor
VG mutes the harshness and TH and adds more visible vapor

Even with more VG I am not surprised 24mg has a greater TH

You don't say what flavors you want to lower the nic level on but if you don't mind diluting the flavor you can just use straight VG from Walmart or a drug store. If you want to keep the flavor at about the same strength you can try some of the doublers from Tasty Vapor. Doublers are basically 0 nic juice used to adjust nic level on their high nic juice.

Actually it works out pretty cheap if you get their 48mg juice and a bottle of doubler. If you want 12 mg just order a 1 oz. bottle of 48 mg nic juice and a 4 oz. bottle of doubler, mix the nic juice with 3 oz. of the doubler and you've got 4 oz. (120 ml) of 12 mg juice for $30.

Oh, you got the tiny sampler bottles. Sorry, I guess I didn't understand from your original post. If you have PG on hand that'll cut the nic, but also the flavor. PG is a bit more difficult to find locally than VG which is commonly available. Some flavors are strong enough to stand up to a 50% reduction, others not so much. If you're filling carts, carto's or dripping you can test it by mixing in your atty or carto. If it works in there then mix the rest of that flavor.
