I just received my E LVT today,and so far I'm impressed with it,and it's performance. Let's hear you likes,dislikes about yours. 001 (5).jpg

I picked one up this past weekend and love it's durability but wish it was more water resistant. I've been looking to improve the water resistance and add some venting capabilities (which I don't think it currently has).

To improve water resistance, I've been thinking of opening up the case and filling it with dielectric grease to prevent water from getting into the electronics at all.

To add venting, to either take off the sticker logo and drill a couple of holes behind it and replace the sticker logo or drill a couple of holes and cover it with tyvek. If I go with tyvek route, I'm hoping it'll act like a gasket to prevent water from seeping in.

Has anybody else done anything to improve the water resistance of their E-LVT and if so, what have ya'll tried?

I like mine a lot. To have an 18650 battery in such a small regulated mod is great imho.. Can't be used as a passthrough, though - so not a direct swap-out for an MVP. The charger point obstruction thing is no biggie to me - it always charges well (but only up to 4.1v). A good plus is that you can use it up to 6v unlike the 5v MVP. It feels great in your hand imho. Love the flashlight! More mods should do this. I'm finding the menu-buttons a bit counter-intuitive at the moment but I'll get the hang of it with time. Not as straightforward as the MVP or Vamo - I keep referring to the booklet - how do you check atomiser resistance? Oh yes - press + for 2 secs. I'm a fan - but it would have been more sensible if people hadn't run around shouting about it being waterproof. IPX-1 is just about water resistant. :)

I like pretty much everything about my e lvt. Only problem I have with mine is sometimes when I try to use it the thing has turned itself off. Maybe I just wasnt pushing the switch all the way in.

I've not come across that yet. The button on mine is suitably clicky and takes very little pressure. When you say "turned itself off" do you have to turn it on again with three clicks?

Its not designed to be waterproof only from what I understand splash resistant. You said your going to fill it with dielectric grease to help with the waterproofing but them your going to vent it. In my opinion that would defeat the whole purpose of the grease. Why would you want to vent it mine never so much as gets a warm battery? Not trying to be rude or anything just thought I would stop you from making a mistake. Theres no seal around the bulb either and the screen is just lightly glued on. If you submerge it water will eventually get through even with grease. Remember if you jar it or drop it the grease will settle or even run out of it if its left in the sun or outside in the heat. I hope I didnt offend you.

Yes sometimes. I did find that my negative battery terminal had a little bit of film or something on it. It hasnt done it since I cleaned it and lightly greased it.

Glad you got it sorted. I hadn't noticed the protective film on the firing button plate until it wrinkled up! :)

No offense. The purpose of the dielectric grease would be to keep water off the electronic circuits in case of accidental submersion (less few seconds, not swimming with mod ;) ) From what I've read from the RC community, coating IC boards in dielectric grease is common practice for keeping moisture off of electronics.

On the venting issue - I imagine that it would vent through the ports, a bit like the MVP.

I don't trust mods that rely on venting through the case. I would prefer a mod that would have actual holes so if it does vent, it would do it in a predictable manner. The problem obviously, is how to have holes to the battery compartment so that it can vent but still keep water out.

I think this mod is a massive pain in the ..... I would not recommend it unless you need it and vape on very low voltages (making the 15W limit useless). It has a tendency to keep firing for the full several second long cutoff time, by the time you can fumble to remove your atomizer the wick is fried and nasty. Because of this I have had to change the wick of my full kayfun several times, wasting up to 5ml of juice every time. It also burned some very expensive coil heads. This happened with my mod and the first mod I recieved, I returned the first one because I could not screw in the battery port because the threads came to me stripped. Pro-tip, ORDER WITH THE BATTERY ALREADY INSERTED! The flap that covers the charging port is a huge pain and the micro-usb charger you use will fall out with the tiniest bit of pressure and you will wake up expecting to see a fully charged battery but the micro usb fell out because you sneezed in it's direction.

Those are basically deal-breakers for me and I will not purchase another one, however it does have pros too. I forget what it's called, but it has a self-adjusting center pin that allows you to vape on those tricky attys that won't reach on an MVP or other mod. It is relatively easy to adjust voltage and wattage, and you can throw it around and the only thing you have to worry about breaking is your topper. The flashlight is pretty bright and useful if you don't have a phone with a flashlight.

Tl;Dr- I would not recommend this to a casual vaper. If you vape on high wattages or it's a pain to replace coils, don't get this.
If you are often in wet/dark/hazardous conditions and fear for your mod, and your atty can handle a few extra seconds of firing, this may be a good mod for you.

PS: if anybody knows how to fix the problem with my mod continuing to fire, please let me know. I have wasted a lot of time and money due to just that problem.

I wonder if the vent holes do anything anyway. The first thing, I would think, that going to happen during thermal runaway is that the gas will expand the battery. If it vents out the top, which I understand is likely, I'm not sure the gas would make its way to the bottom, where the vent holes are usually placed.

I like the size and shape, the rubber coating, the simple LED display (oleds don't seem to last me as long), battery can be charged in the device.

Things I don't like are the 510 connector (would have preferred a recessed connector), puts out a lot of RFi (can be heard on the car radio), pressing the plus or minus buttons change the setting immediately when pressed.

It looks like mine is a newer version than what I've seen in reviews. In the units reviewed holding the plus button for 3 seconds displays the battery voltage and holding the plus an minus buttons together for 3 seconds displays resistance but on mine its the reverse. The ohm meter on mine is spot on as well, the ohm meter has been brought up in reviews as a problem.

All in all I'm very happy with this mod.

You took the plunge I take it? Did you get a good deal on it since the 30w versions are expected out anytime.

I have no complaints with mine so far. I would like some extra screws for the back cover though.
