Hey all,

Just got an e-power a few weeks ago. Everything's been working fine and then one of my batteries stopped discharging/charging or showing any signs of life whatsoever. So I thought, ok, battery must be shot so I bought an ultrafire (I think) 14650 from madvapes.

Worked great for a few days. I just took the new battery off the charger when it was done, put it in my e-power and the light flashed like normal. Push the button, nothing happens and the light blinks like you hit the cutoff. Hit the button again, same thing, flashes but no action. Switched back to the one working original battery and it works fine. Put the new battery back in, same thing again.

Any ideas?

it's making contact. I just noticed too that if I put the new battery in without a carto, the light doesn't blink when you push the button, it turns on solidly as normal. As soon as I screw the carto in, it blinks when you push it.

I even tried screwing it in while holding the switch down - as soon as the carto makes contact the light starts blinking.

Could it have something to do with the protection circuit in the battery?

Just tried with another carto, exact same thing happens with the blinking. Put the other (original) battery back in and both cartos work in the e-power with no problem. I've also been using this carto on my ego as well with no problems whatsoever. I also just threw the new battery back on the charger to make sure it was charged and the light turns green almost instantly.

just saw this. You should try cleaning the threads on the switch and the tube with a cloth. You may need to do this a few times.
Make sure you never put the battery in backwards, positive side to the switch, you should mark big +'s on the positive side of the battery. this switch like many devices do not have protection against reverse polarity.

I had this happen to my e-power never tried another batt, just cleaned the switch threads and the tube threads.
Let us know if this works.

okay seems like you covered most of the bases. It seems to be the battery since the e-power
works with the other battery and cart setup.

The last thing to do is try that battery in another mod if you can. It could be defective such as showing fully charged but under load dropping below 3.40 volts or so which will cutoff the switch.

Do you have a multimeter to check the voltage of the battery?

Don't have anything else to try it in; battery tests @ 4.07v.

The battery fully charged should read 4.18 to 4.20 volts the difference being various quality of multimeters.
If I read everything correctly this is a new battery, therefore get in touch with Madvapes and open a ticket
asking for warranty replacement. I also suggest getting another battery so you have 3 on hand,
after testing all the batteries are good than put 1 of the new ones fully charged away till you need it.

Did as you suggested and contacted madvapes. Gotta say that's some customer service - two hours after I opened a support ticket, there's another battery on the way free of charge. Pretty awesome!

I probably will get another battery or two for it but I'd like to be able to find some IMR's... If my e-power is down I always have my 900 ego to fall back on.

Nah, if it reads a voltage of 4+ when charged, then the battery is working and getting charged properly. It could be a weak battery if it dies quickly but I think this issue is the switch. Ive had the same problem and the switch fixed it

EDIT: just re-read the original post. It might actually be the charger. I dont know much about these charger but if the battery does in fact show a voltage potential between 3.7-4.2 when fully charged then it shouldnt be the batt or the charger for that matter. I dunno, im kinda stumped
