KR808d-1 problems with battery/cartomizer

Just bought 2 new batteries, charged them up and they just flash when I try to use them.
Take the cartomizers off, hit the button, and a steady light.
I have tried 3 different brand cartomizers.
Put the cartmoziers on an old battery and it works just fine
I am new to this and thought all KR08's where interchangable.
Is this correct???

howdy sstella100, i started on KR808-D1's too.

most KR808's are compatible. over the time i was using them i found out there were some knock-offs KR808-D2's.
the 2's are not compatible with the 1's. they thread properly, but the depth of the contacts for the batteries did not match.
i believe you would get the same steady light, if that were the case.

however, the flashing light indicates to me that the battery needs to be charged, or at least the electronics seem to think so. since you have charged them, and the cartos work on known good batteries, i would say that the new batteries maybe bad. i would contact your merchant to see if you could replace them. you might also check to see if they are the D2's and not D1's

I will have to start the search to find a place that is definetly a d-1
I could go back to where I purchased the kits and accessories from, but I wanted more color options.

Crashinbrn, what are the depth differences. How can I easily tell before buying the batteries or cartomizers (if carts have depth differences too)??

It is usually well indicated. Anyways kr808d-2 carts are kinda hard to find so you would be unlucky to buy them by mistake. On my side i did it the other way around.... d1 carts for d2 batts. It somehow kinda works with about half of them, but cant screw in all the way. I broke my d2 passthrough trying to force a d1 cart on it tho :x

From what I understand the D-2 threading is special and only offered by suppliers that want a "proprietary" unit. In other words, it forces you to come back to them for more cartos. A standard 808D-1 won't even screw onto their batteries.
