Hi everyone!! Hope everybody had a Great Christmas!!!

I wanted to purchase an E-Power tonight when i came across a thread talking about this model and how there are a few different buttons on this e-cig and that one of the buttons causes it not to work on LR-cartomizers. I'm pretty sure it was said that the blue button was the model that worked with everything..? Now i wanted to move up from my 510 to the e-power for mostly two reasons..one being the longer lasting and more powerfull battery, and secondly, i wanted to be able to to use LR atties and cartomizers on it, hoping to get more throat hit!

Does anyone know of a vendor that sells the E-Power in which both the LR and SR Cartos/Atties would work? I would hate to buy one and put on a LR cartomizer and nothing happen!!!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this one!!!!

Here is the thread you mentioned.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...48025-current-e-power-14650-switch-issue.html

I don't know of anyone who currently sells the E-Power 14650 with the blue light switch. The last of those seem to have sold out in November. There could be some vendors selling these.

The current model E-Power 14650 is sold with the white LED light switch module. Apparently, this switch is not compatible with LR cartos rated below 2.0 ohms. This switch will operate a 2.0 LR single coil carto and SR cartos just fine.

Many vendors sell the E-Power 14650 in similar looking boxed starter kits. Many feature a different assortment of additional equipment: atty + cartridge, cartos, atty+cartridge and cartos, etc. You will have to look into the details of each offer and pick the one that suits you best.

Two of the E-Power 14650 vendors: Hoosier e cig supply and CCV are aware of the issue with the white LED light switch module and have ordered a new version of the switch which they hope to have in stock early in January. This switch will include the 5-click switch lock-out feature of the current white LED switch and will be able to handle LR cartos of less than 2 ohms, like the blue LED switch module.

If you don't need less than 2.0 ohm LR capability and want the E-Power right now, go for the E-Power 14650 currently sold by Hoosier. It comes with 2.0 LR XL cartos (same juice capacity as the 1.7 ohm LR XL "Resurrector" carto). Honestly, I can't tell the difference between vaping the 2.0 LR XL and the 1.7 LR XL. You can always upgrade the switch module later on for about $11.

If you are not in a hurry and want to use LR cartos of less than 2.0 ohms, wait until January when Hoosier and CCV have the new switch available.

Andrew from CCV said he is expecting to have the new LR switch by next Monday. The new one will handle the LRs with no problem. Or if you want to order it know, Id follow yzers advice and get some 2.0ohm XL cartos. They will work no problem and will hold you over till you can swap for the new LR switch. I absolutely love my E-Power. Smoktech just royally screwed up and for some reason made the newest switch only rated to 2.0ohm. I use the Ressurector cartos which are awesome on the E-Power, but most people have said the switch isnt working on them. For some reason the white LED switch that I got is running the Ressurectors, which im surprised about. I still am carrying one of my old blue LED switches though bc I dont know when it might just stop working with them bc technically it shouldnt be working. The LR switch though will be able to run the Ressurectors and also the 1.5ohm E-Power dual coils with no problems

You can get the blue switch E-power at Gotvapes thats where I got mine anyways..I'm still waiting for my 1.7 "Resurrectors" to come in that supposably work better with the blue switch than the smoktek dual coils. I'd stay away from the white switch edition..My blue switch one works "meh..ok" on dual coils but not nearly as good as I'd like.

Here's a reply from smoktek reguarding the "new" switches that are suppose to come out I got today in an e-mail..

Hi Ryan,

I'm not sure about the e-power switches. I am currently getting the "we're talking to the engineers" story from SmokTech about this issue. I have no more info at this time. Sorry.

Sincerely,
SmokTek.com

Looks like it could be some time still before we see these new switches...also the "High Drain 14650 batts dont perform any better than the stock ones on dual coils 1.5, I just got 2 of those in the mail today..

Dont get me wrong I like my E-power alot..very nice and sturdy, atleast the 14650 anyways and looks sweet in the steel edition..I'll be ordering a couple of these new switches as soon as they come out though =)

Thanks for all of the info!! Greatly appreciated! I checked a few sites and none of them really say anything about the model not being able to be used on LR Carts....so i'm a little worried about making the purchase. I might have to just wait until January to make the purchase from one of the venders that you suggested.

So you have both models and can't really tell much of a difference in the throat hit department?? Besides the battery, that is mostly the reason on why i want to jump up from my 510. The 510 is the only E-cig i have ever used so i guess i'm just a little nervous on what to purchase! I went from thinking i was going to buy the Ego, then Leo, then i saw the e-power which is a little cheaper so i figured i would go with that.

I guess i have to just take the leap and make the purchase, just want to make sure i get one that i will like and be able to use it for awhile! lol

Hi OldDragon, Thanks for the info on that. I'm not sure what i will go with yet. The not charging for 7 hours sounds very nice to me!!! lol So are those ce2's pretty nice?? I might order a 5 pack of those. Look interesting!! Good throat hit?
Thanks, Karen

I know that gotvapes have both sizes and vap wise they both seem the same, only the 2200 one is a little heaver. The 14650 will last me about 5 /6 hours, I have yet to recharge the 2200 after 7+ hours, normally I will use 2 ego's in a day. I only use ce2's for vaping and I really don't like a hot vap.

Honestly, I dont know how much he vapes but my regular 14650 epower with the blue buttons charge lasts me a day and a half to two days. Thats even with my wife using mine exclusively when she gets home from work since hers has the annoying white led button so it only works on the lone cherry lime aid cart we have thats 2.0 ohm. And even then it cuts out 1 in 5 times.

So with 2 people using this 14650 epower we still are getting a good day and a half.

OldDragon must vape his .... off. ;)

I use the 14650 E-Power with the generic batts...I vape around 5ml/day...with my Rivas, I would get around 6hrs but would change the batt out at 4-5hrs...vaping the same amount, I get 10+ hrs with the E-Power, maxing out(if pushed) at around 12 hrs...this is with the hard plastic blue button using 1.5dcc, 1.7&2.0ohm single coil cartos........

I use stainless steel CE2's but should warn you that there is a learning curve with them.

My suggestion is to get the E-power and use it with the 2.0 ohm carto or higher. It will still be a huge difference from a 510. The great thing about the E-power is that the three major parts, battery, switch and body are replaceable. If in the future you find that the 2.0 ohm cartos aren't adequate for you replace the switch.
