E roll seems to be self vaping after taking a few hits

Hi !! Something weird is going on with my E roll. I put a new atomizer on about a week ago and all has been fine ( I am very new to the E roll and have had a couple of problems with the attys but got those ironed out by using quite a thin PG juice and all has been good) But today I took a few hits on my E roll and it went berserk - it was hissing like mad and the blue tip light stayed on and it was like I was continuing to draw on it. The light stayed on for several seconds and then went out. I let it cool down then went for a few more hits and it did the same thing. I have since been taking very light vapes and it was ok but then it has done the same thing again and I am going through the juice like there is no tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced this ? I love my E roll and after finally getting over my initial atty problems I have been vaping to my hearts content but this self vaping thing is weird and I must have refilled my tank 20 times today already. Please help!!!!!!

Thanks Sthur, but I have just put a brand new battery on and it is doing the same thing. So I guess it is the atomizer but it is only a week old ???>>>>>>>

Oh what is going on with my E roll atomisers!!!!!!?????? Following on from my last post , I established the battery wasn't the problem as I put a brand new one on and was having the same problem with the e roll carrying on vaping on its own. I have put another brand new atomiser on and it has lasted only about a week and this atomiser has done exactly the same thing. So that has been removed and I have just put another one on. This is now the 5th atomiser in six weeks - that can't be right surely? I have a friend who has only replaced one atomiser in 3 months and my sister is 4 weeks in to her E roll and is still on her first atomiser,. I am getting mighty ...... off with this as , as well as improving my health I did also want to save a bit of money ( I was a roll ups smoker before and living in Spain tobacco is still quite cheap here) But the atomizers at £4 a pop and only lasting a week is not great. Why are other peoples lasting so much longer than mine. I didn't buy cheapy atomisers , I bought the last pack of 5 from the official Joyetech site. Also, with the duff atomisers I have tried cleaning them using the alcohol then steaming and drying methods I have seen suggested on line and the two self vaping ones are doing the same thing with a very tight draw and the other two are as dead as door nails and don't do a thing. Please help !!!!!!!!

Aha! Are those genuine Joyetech atomisers or clones? The exact same thing happened to me about a week ago, when I used a clone, which I didn't realise was one. Now my battery is kaput .

The auto switch is a pressure switch. So it "senses"/reacts to the low pressure when you take a hit and turns on. This activation is NOT a function of the carto itself (but wait) it is a function of the battery.

That said, if you screwed on a new battery and it stayed active there could, maybe, be something about the carto that activates the switch...or keeps it active....a vacuum.

So it's either that BOTH switches are defective...like they have e-juice in them or are worn or something... OR
The carto has "vapor lock" and isn't letting the outside air in when you stop drawing on it. There's enough flow to let air in with your super-lungs pulling on it, but not enough to bring the switch back to normal atmospheric pressure when you stop drawing.

I'l refrain from any "sucking oranges through a straw" jokes because that could be misconstrued. However, the joke is a good example of why your hitting the thing has a LOT of negative pressure and can activate it, but maybe atmospheric pressure is not enough to equalize.

Try cleaning out the air holes on the carto, blowing/cleaning it out. Maybe a warm water soak. IDK what it is so IDK the cleaning process. But clean it well and make sure the air flows. Also, maybe unscrew it a 1/4 turn to let more air in around the threads if it still makes contact and heats up. Also, check for any vent "cuts" in the battery side of the connector and make sure they are not clogged.

Technically it shouldn't be the carto though. There should be enough air flow backward to let the switch relax.

Just guesses.

If messing with the carto doesn't do it....I'd avoid using those batteries. Maybe let them dry out for a few weeks and try again too....

IDK if anyone has ever done an ISO rinse with them or if that is recommended.

P.S.
An easy way to test ^^^ would be to immediately unscrew the atomizer/carto when it starts mis-behaving. If the light goes off, the switch released and it's "vapor locked". If the light stays on, it is a bad switch.

Of course take precaution with malfunctioning e-cigs. Don't burn yourself on the too-hot carto/atty. And don't point the "ash" end of the e-cig toward you in case it vents.

There some discussion of this on the eroll sub-forum. I have had it happen only briefly and it resolved itself so don't know what caused it. FYI, I have 22 Joye Type A attys in rotation on both erolls and Ego Cs (all genuine Joye) months and have had no problems with them.

Edit: I just searched my memory banks and recall thinking it was being caused by the high VG juice I was vaping at the time. I diluted it with some straight PG and the problem went away. Dunno if that was the cause for sure though because it never happened again.

I bought the attys from the Joyetech site and so can only assume they are genuine. I also use mostly pg juice so can't think it can be due to them getting all gunked up. Maybe it's just the way I vape!!!

In my case, the atty seemed too big. It seemed a bit of a tighter fit than usual. Then the battery just went haywire and wouldn't switch off.

Did you accidentally get Type B attys or were sent them by mistake? I know the number of air channels are different than the Type A and it seems to me improper airflow could definitely cause it.

I don't know what the physical difference is between the two. I bought them from Fasttech and later realised they were clones.
