How to clean an Atomizer on a Joyetech E roll

Hi everyone. I am very new to vaping. I started out on Smoke Relief e cigs using pre filled cartridges but have now moved on to a joyetech E roll which I love . However I have been having a few issues namely with the atomizers. It was my understanding that an atomizer on the E roll should last between 4 - 6weeks. Both of the atomizers in my kit seem to be messing about. I am somethimes getting a really bad burnt taste and sometimes no vapour, Do I need to clean the atomizers , how often and how?? Any advice would be really gratefully received as I really want to stick with the E roll as I love the portability of it with the PCC etc.

Hi and welcome to ECF. It depends on your PG/ VG ratio and the juice you're vaping. Darker and/ or heavier VG juices clog up the atomizer quicker. Rather than using isopropyl use PGA or vodka. Cleaning about once every week or two OR when you begin to get a "funky" taste. Unfortunately you can't dry burn with the eRoll.



Here's another way of cleaning. A friend swears by it. He uses Smokers Denture Cleaner.

Edit: Dry burning an eRoll atomizer:
"What I do is remove the spike, put the atomizer body back on the battery, replace the cone (like you did)... then I blow into the lighted end to activate the battery for a couple of seconds at a time, allowing it to cool between.

It's easy to see how red the coil's getting, just face a mirror while doing it."

Some designs are meant to be replaced.
Yes, I'm tight to and even flush Cartomizers.............once or twice.
Eventually you will notice it really has to go.

Ah many thanks for that info. When you say clean with vodka for example ( got plenty of that in the house! )Do I just dunk the whole atomizer in a bowl of vodka then take it out and leave it to dry? Sorry if I sound ignorant but I don't want to mess it up. I live in an area where you can't buy e roll equipment locally and so I have to order online and wait an eon for stuff to arrive.

You're welcome. No apologies needed. If the coil is really gunked up best to first soak the entire head it in vodka BEFORE taking apart. Regarding dry burning- Washing soaking cleans the entire head and dry burning cleans the gunked up juice on the coil into ash- rinse afterwards

Ah !!! Thanks so much Vapoor eyes er for your help. really appreciate that . One other thing that I noticed that has just started happening on my E roll and that is on two my tanks , juice has started getting in to the lower chamber of the mouth piece and juice is getting in to my mouth - YUK!!!!!! Why would this be happening ? I have rinsed out the tanks and they all look fine. This hasn't happened before , I am using the same liquid and I don't think I am vaping in a different way. What do you think?? !!!!
