Hi,

I recently got some e-smart clearomizers from Vaporkings and I really do love them. I had about given up on clearomizers for my little 808 batteries. However, they have started to produce less vapor and periodically give off a burnt taste. I know that generally means its time to toss them, but one of them hasn't even been in the rotation that long. Is there a fix or something I can do to extend the lives of future e-smarts?

I just ordered a pack to try and am hoping for the best. I know with my current V2 Liquimax clearos I have been using them constantly for a month and have cleaned them many times and have had no loss in flavor with any of them. Hope the e-smart are as good to me.

The best way I have found to clean them is to pour in a little vodka and shake for about a minute. Pour out the vodka and pour in distilled water, shake to rinse and pour out. Fill up again with vodka. Only about 3/4 to the top. I then put on a carto condom and turn it upside down. I make sure there is just enough vodka to let the wicks soak. I turn it upside down so the vodka doesn't sit on the battery end where the tank is sealed at the base. I believe this will lessen the chance of the alcohol eating away at the seal. I let it soak like this for about a half hour then pour out the vodka and rinse again with distilled water. Let it dry and reuse. Never had to do a dry burn yet.

Thanks for the advice. I was trying to avoid the effort/time of vodka and distilled water but maybe its unavoidable. I have some V2 Liquimax clearos also. They give off decent flavor/vapor. I've only used one and only occasionally because they aren't very portable and I always feel like the drip tip is going to slide out due to the lack of threads. The e-smarts are extremely portable and I carry them around in my pocket all the time. No leaks at all. Hope you like them and let me know if you figure out any helpful tips!

It could be all you need is a dry burn, assuming you haven't tried that yet. I haven't tried the e-smart yet, so that's all I got.

Good luck.

It could be because I'm fairly new to this, but for some reason dry burns make me nervous. haha. Always afraid I'm gonna burn something and make it worse. I did try to do a dry burn on one of them. I heard that you are supposed to hold the button down for a few seconds at a time until you see the coil glow. Problem is that with the e-smarts (especially because mine are purple) I couldn't see the coil glow even after about 8-10 times. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Theres so much to learn!

From what I read you need to be looking down the air tube to see the coils glowing. Best to do it in a dim room.

Pretty much this. :)

As I said, I haven't purchased any of these myself. But it should be no more difficult than any other top coil clearo. Look down the air tube to the coil. Take the drip tip off, and if possible remove the clearo from the base. If you can't, then simply removing the tip will help.

Then hold the button down 3-4 seconds at a time. First you'll hear hissing and popping, and then you'll start to see smoke. The smoke is the gunk on the coil burning off. When you see the smoke, blow down the air tube to help dissipate it a bit. When you see the coil glow red, stop pushing the button and let it cool for a few seconds. Repeat this until there is no longer any smoke when you push the button.

You can blow out the coil doing this, and some say it reduces the life of the atomizer over all. However, I find it does a better job of cleaning the coil then just alcohol and water, and it's faster too. Though I usually soak mine in alcohol and then do a dry burn.

The few times I have tried to do a dry burn I never get any smoke. Guess when I clean them it must be getting all of the gunk off of the coils.
