Ok, I know this is likely just all coincidence but I'm actually very interested in others experience.

I read before in these forums where someone mentioned they did tests with the inhalation of some of an ingredient from our nic-liquid to prevent certain illnesses in the past. I honestly can't remember which thread I read it and can't find it doing a search. It struck me as unusual and for whatever reason I still remember it.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has not gotten sick or gotten sick less frequently since they've started vaping? I started vaping exclusively since November of '08 and have not gotten sick even when there were large breakouts of colds and flu in my area. Everyone in my house (have 5 roommates) have gotten a cold or flu and mostly everyone in my immediate family and work have gotten sick at one point or another but I remained perfectly healthy. Of course I wash my hands frequently and take usual steps to stay healthy but I am very suprised I didn't get hit with something this winter season. I usually do. Coincidence?

Anybody else unseasonably healthy?

Check out DIY recipes and extracts.

While I feel overall the "healthcare" and "redbull" type juice is a rip off. There is also some truth to it. Some vitamins and other "good" chemicals can be delivered by PG.

PG is often used to suspend natural essences or medication in aerosol and deliver respritory meds to patients via an inhaler.

Here is a list of a FEW herbal oils which have useful properties:
Learn more about Essential Wholesale's essential oils for aromatherapy and cosmetics

There are so many more, herbalism has been around for 1000's of years, using PG to deliver it is also not new. They have been using PG as aerosol for decades.

There is also a book BBA? or something with a huge list of all naturally occuring chemicals and plants. PG/VG is listed in this book along with all oils/essences disitilled from plants.

I don't think it would be easy to get proof that PG helps keep illness at bay, but its pretty much common sense that "its possible" and that vitamins/medication can be delivered via PG and those DO help with the immune system and illness indirectly.

You might be thinking of this thread about how PG is a "germ-killing vapour"?

I don't tend to get a lot of colds anyway, so haven't really noticed a diffence since I started vaping.

Excellent! Thank you for fishing out that post for me :thumb:

I think it's quite interesting to think of the potential health "benefits" that might be attributed to vaping. Makes all this discussion of banning e-cigs that much more disturbing however.

15 years ago I gave up smoking cold turkey for just one year and during that time I went swimming every day after work to try and get fit .....and naturaly my lung function improved steadily and slowly.
I have been vaping for just over three months and am going out cycling every day to try and get fit and what is really interesting me is that my lung function seems to be improving far 'quicker' than the time I gave up smoking cold turkey, it seems as if vaping is actually somehow helping my lungs to improve.....but of course that isn't scientific or provable.

I've only vaped a few days, of course, but the thing that made me finally stop getting colds and flus all the time was when I stared my current job 4 years ago. I'm in broadcasting, and work in a very small room with 3 other people, and we end up sharing microphones, computer keyboards, mice, air and telephones with everyone else. Since starting there, I think my immune system has kicked into high gear, I only get one cold a year, if that, despite my analog smoking, and I almost never disinfect the equipment. I know it's just anecdotal, but my few co-workers who wipe everything down with antibacterial cleaners get sick all the time. I think they run their homes and lives like that too.

Germs? Go ahead, do your worst! :D
