I got my first ProVari today, vaped it for about 20 minutes. I took a nap, once I got up I started vaping again and I was really really diggin' this mod. So then it just stops firing. I'm vaping a 3 ohm boge @ 6 volts and it just stops firing and throws E8 error over and over. Also when I look at the battery contact inside the tube it looks like there's something like hot glue all over it, I'm not sure if this is normal or what. I tried to clean the battery contacts but like I said, one is covered in some very hard clear gel. Needless to say I'm pretty angry. Anyone run into this before? The carto is not dry, the ohms aren't fluctuating according to the device, the batteries are brand new ordered with the ProVari (AW IMR 18490s), it works for a while after I take the battery out and replace it.

I don't have a camera, but I can try to borrow one from a friend to take a picture if the camera will pick it up. I sent ProVape an e-mail and am awaiting their response. I'm just ...... off, I was really looking forward to this device, spent a good amount of money on it (to me anyway) and on the first day it fails. I'm not sure if I should try scraping off the epoxy like substance or not, I already tried using my fingernail but it's much too hard and I'm afraid I'll break something else that would void my warranty and then be charged to fix my defective mod. I guess I'll just wait to see what ProVape wants me to do, I'm really hoping they will send me a device to use if I have to send mine in but who knows. I hope they check their e-mail on the weekends...

Mine did the same thing. But it also through another error I think it was a 5 but it had shocked me a little so I just tossed it on the bed. Mine also has the clear jell over the post inside. Also my twist gives me a better hit then the provari is giving me. I have been looking the last couple days to see what I'm suppose to do. Cause I never receive a receipt with it or a copy of the warranty. Also don't know if this is normal.

Really? When did you get yours? I haven't gotten any error code yet besides E8, it throws an E8 code about every 45 minutes of moderate vaping, I take the battery out and put it back in and start the cycle all over again. I went to the ProVari website and under the "Contact Us" option I told them what was happening. This was only minutes ago so haven't heard back yet, plus it's Friday night so not sure if I will get a response until the weekend is over. Did you get the Satin Silver with blue LED?

Seems logical to me that if something is covering the battery contact that its not going to fire consistently. Seems someone at the factory or in production was in a hurry or clumsy with the sealant. Im sure if you contact them and I also believe there is a ProVape forum on here that can help you. Dont worry, its friday and though we all would like to have instant tech support , sometime "life" just gets in the way. Dont freak out, too much:) I know its hard when one has been waiting for it to get there and if this is your first Provari all the great reviews on the MOD and all the raves of how well built, US made etc and customer service come flowing back to you and you get upset. Just take a deep breath, and remember it will be taken care of, they will get back to you.

Dont go saying anything negative you might regret, things happen, they are made by mere mortals and there is always the possibility of human error. Now if the whole weekend goes by and Monday comes and they dont respond, then go ahead, give it to them good:)

Does your positive post look like this? If not then something definitely needs cleaned out of there...

I know people make mistakes. I am not freaking out. I have been looking for a couple days to find answers. I'm not one to get ...... off at people for making mistakes. I was looking to see if I might have been doing something wrong. Life is make of trail and error.

Yes the positive post is fine, it's the one inside the tube itself that's got the clear epoxy/gel on it. Just to be clear I know people make mistakes, and I'm not trashing this company. From 99.9% of what I've read this company is top notch and so is the ProVari, that's why I spent a lot of money to get it. Still I've evidently received a defective device, and someone else who got theirs in the last few days apparently has the same problem, and that doesn't encourage me. Still, from their reputation I would be very surprised if ProVape didn't get back to me, at the very least on Monday, and try to fix this problem. I just need to vent, you guys understand right?

Ahh, I see... Well, here's a pic of what it should look like inside(minus the carbon I need to clean off the contact).

Aside from that... Everyone needs to vent occasionally. Don't worry about it.
