Been vaping 1.5 weeks now. Developed an ear ache the first day I started vaping so I thought it couldn't have anything to do with vaping as that would be way to fast. Today I was hooked up to an IV of antibiotics my ear is completley infected. Any thoughts on vaping and ear infections

Well- I'm not a healthcare professional. But I used to get all kinds of ear pain/infections when smoking- now that I'm off the tobacco all of that has gone away. It was more or less chronic. Now gone.

I'd have a hard time thinking that one day of vaping could cause an ear infection. But remember that an allergy can look like an infection (check this with your doctor). If you are allergic to PG or a flavoring it can show up anywhere (and if vapor gets into the compartments leading to the ear....).

Just some thoughts... but as always go with what the doctors say.

My thoughts:

Vapng - Love it.

Ear Infections - What a pain.

*spank!* Behave yourself AJ!!

OP, I DOUBT it has anything to do with your becoming a vaper of distinction. HOWEVER, ear infections CAN be caused by several things..one of which is an imbalance of fluid within the ear. We all know that when you first start out, it has a tendancy to dry you out so????

In closing, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm siding with the illustrious AJMoore and drink plenty of liquids and take your antibiotics...

Here and back
Domino, my bad. I took the question "literally";)

In all sincerity, I have had (one time in my life) an unbelievable ear infection. Unfortunately for me, it was during a period of time I had to cross the Atlantic 2 1/2 times by air. I thought it was going to be the end of me. I really feel for you Nu2Blu and I hope the antibiotics work. Domino has some very good insight on the possible causes and very good advice on intake of liquids.

Thanks for the heartfelt sympothy's. Doc say's come back tomorrow. I didn't bring up vaping with her. This Doc was so dingy she flat out said "i don't know what to do" and called the specialist. I didn't mention the vaping but will tomorrow In the mean time plenty of liquids as you all suggest and take my medicine. I'll keep you all "posted"

You might also consider seeing a Dentist.

I had what I thought was an ear infection for the longest time, even saw a doctor and got the antibiotic drops and penecillin. That helped a little, but the problem never went away completely.

I finally went to the dentist (for unrelated reasons) and found that my wisdom tooth was actually causing the problem.
Got wisdom teeth pulled, ear infection went away.

Tooth problems can cause problems in your ears.

Sorry for your pain, I've been there.

If you have recurrent ear infections then I would recommend seeing an ENT. I really doubt that vaping has anything to do with your ear infection, but it should be checked out none the less if it keeps happening. Ear infections in adults usually happen after bouts with a cold virus, seasonal allergies or flying on an airplane. They can also be caused by the misuse of Q-tips or other things to clean your ears.
