Anyone else here have stretched lobes?

I just had a mother of a time last night with the stretch I just did. I went from an 8g to a 6g. I can't believe how difficult of a stretch that was. The other gauges were pretty much effortless, but getting that 6g taper through...I had to push and push and push....and when they finally gave way, STINGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
I went to bed with lobster red ears. And it was so hard to get comfortable, my ears were so sore. This morning the redness is gone, very little swelling, and I only feel the soreness if I bump my ears.
Now I'm just praying that I don't suffer a blow out because of how hard it was to get the tapers through. I guess I'll know soon enough.
I waited 2 months between the 8 and 6 gauge stretch. I think that'll I'll be waiting probably 3 months before going to a 4g.

But I'm very happy that I finally am able to wear my first set of flesh tunnels

Don't set dumb ... time intervals between stretches  let your ears tell you when they are ready to go up a size or two, otherwise you will have blowouts, they can look ugly and you will have to go down a couple of sizes and start again.

Like you I made this mistake and used to go up 1mm every other week with a stetching plug kit I have.

With some toing and froing I'm currently upto 18mm, with a view to be 20mm by the end of the year and with a final goal of 25mm (that's 1" for the colonials)

I don't think I made any mistake. and I know I didn't stretch to soon. My lobes were ready a month ago but I waited another month just to be sure. And I never skip sizes.
and setting reasonable time intervals between stretches is not a dumb .... thing to do as long as your lobes are ready to go up another size by the time is up. It's actually the smart thing to do.

K, Do it your way love, more power to you.

Just one tip for ya, it shouldn't hurt when you stretch it, if it does your doing it wrong or your lobe ain't ready time frame or no, especially as you've only gone up 1 - 1.5mm this time.

Ok I lied, second tip, when you want to go up a size make sure you do it after a stonking hot bath, the skin gets very stretchy when it's hot, of course this may allow you to stretch to far so common sense is a must.

It didn't hurt, it stung...which is perfectly normal for stretching. True, stretching is not suppose to be painful, but it is not discomfort free either. My step-brother is a tattoo artist and a piercer and says that the stinging sensation is normal, especially when getting into the larger sizes.

Yes you are absolutely right, stinging is perfectly normal...Sorry for the misunderstanding...:)

Well, I went to 4's w/ the rubber band dealy, ya know straight and it wasn't too bad. But THEN, I went to the 4 guage one pieces, with the trumpeted tips which are actually a lot bigger than the normal 4 and they took forever to get in, finally got 'em in with a satisfying POP and now I'm not sure if I'll ever get them out. LOL

I went up from 4 to 5 to fast and ended up having to got back down. I feel you pain.

Yeah, last night kinda sucked. But my lobes are fine now. no redness or swelling and I don't even notice the tenderness unless bumped and even then, the tenderness is comparable to getting a fresh piercing. No signs of a blowout so it's all good .
I think I may buy some bondage tape and start taping for future stretches instead of using tapers. I've heard it's less tramatic because it's more gradual.

I guess I older than most of you but I don't understand why you would want to stretch you peirced ear lobes.

I don't know. It's kindof a personal choice and preference. Some people think it's disgusting but I happen to find it very attractive. But then again, I'm into all sorts of body mods.

The 6-4 sucked hard the 4-2 was rough and the 2-0 was effing brutal. I pushed mine hard and have some blow out and to this day is still sitting at an 8ga.

I don't know...maybe some people just aren't meant to go up in sizes. I wanna get to a 2, but it's possible that 6 might be my final size.
