My mom smokes like a chimney and I wanted to get her an e-cig. The problem is that she's disabled and has some dexterity issues and generally unsteady hands. Refilling carts and whatnot just ain't happening. What I wanted to know is how easy is the Blu to use with the stock carts? Is it basically "plug&play"? Would somebody with her issues be able to use one easily?

Thanks for any help you could provide.

Hmm. Hard to say, PV's must be adapted to the user but this is beyond the normal which battery/etc. Remember there are a lot of other activities to consider. Screwing batteries on a charger for instance. If this is going to be any kind of a pain would recommend something that will last longer to cut down on fiddling with charging.

Cartomizers are a good option to consider especially with a bigger battery (510/etc) you could fill a pack of five and see how long they last her. Assuming of course she doesnt have any trouble screwing them on. They usually behave, but can be a pain when they need to be cleaned. Of course then you'd have to have enough prefilled cartomizers to last till you could refill them.

Blu could be considered plug and play to some extent, but you are going to spend a fortune on carts more than likely, unless you refill them for her from time to time. Maybe someone can recommend a prefilled that lasts long enough to be resonable without refills. Remember prefilled anything is not going to last nearly as long as they claim, unless she doenst smoke much.

If she is home a lot you might consider starting off with a passthru and cartomizers. A good supply would at least help her cut back on analogs and get a feel for what she can handle dexterity wise. This and your availability to help with refilling will be your limiting factor. If money is no object, prefilled might work if too inconvenient to do another way. Just cant see a chimney style smoker getting enough out of a blu, but you never know around here.

1st -- Is she interested? It will be up to her to make it work in the end.

2nd-- At least 24mg/ml to start if she is a heavy smoker

3rd-- Make sure you dont insist on all or nothing. If she quits right off the bat, do everything to keep her stocked so she doesnt backslide, but dont push the issue.

4th-- Do you live close?? Can you refill cartomizers for her??
If not, prefilled might be only option, but there are many ways to fill cartomizers/etc might be able to find a way.

5th-- Highly recommend a mega manual 510 for starters. Auto's have a place in many hearts around here being technically most like an analog. But they can be touchy, as long as she can hold a regular analog, any good manual should work for her every time.

6th-- Worst case scenario. She can not refill/You can not refill might look into a juice box type mod after you know she wants to vape. Although not familiar with them personally, they have regular size batteries or USB plugs and a reservoir of juice that might fit your situation better than anything else at the moment.

7th-- If she is on BP meds and makes a full switch, might want to have her track Blood Pressure changes and discuss with her doctor. Too low of BP can also be a bad thing. And smoking like a chimney tends to elevate BP (more than I would ever have believed before switching. Who knew doc was right all along)

Again. These are personal vaporizers and there are a lot of possibilities depending on multiple factors. Best bet if refilling not an option for her is to have someone who can regularly visit and refill for her. Once you know how many she would use in a day, you can either set aside one day to fill or smaller batches daily or ever other day. OF course this just touches the surface of acceptable device. Flavor is a whole other debate.

Really think you should at least look at the juicebox type units for this situation, but they arent cheap so might want to start with a simpler unit to see if she can make the switch, then worry about finding HER the right PV.
