Hi, just recently converted to atomizers, been using a generic 510 for less than a month by dripping directly into it, using a delrin drip tip, working great. I just received cartridges for the 510 and I don't get it how it's used. I put 10 drops into the filler of the cartridge but it always taste burnt and it makes sense, the filler is full of liquid but it doesn't drop the liquid on the bridge of the atomizer. And the 510 doesn't heat enough the filler to vaporize it.

How in the world can a cartridge works ?!?

I'm a 510 cart lover, surprisingly through all of my troubles. Make sure you put one-two drops directly on the atty, or it'll always have a burnt taste. If this is not the case, try these:

Try and cut your polyfil into a cone-shape. Make sure it's no bigger than 1/2". Take an empty cart and put in 4-5 drops, then insert the cone into the cart, point first. Then, add as many drops as it takes to make the top of the filler soaked, without over-filling it. Hook the cartridge up to your atty, and let your PV sit cart-side up for a minute, just to get the atty soaked and ready to go. This is my method, and I have yet to have any major problems. :) However, if this doesn't work for you, try:

Pyramid Tea Bag Cart Mod , Blue Foam Cart Mod , or Zero Filler Cart Mod

Hope this helps :)

Edit: I use an Ultra Dense Poly-fil, which holds a lot more juice than the regular poly-fil :)

When I start a new cartridge I take the filler out and fill with abt 8 drops of liquid and then put the filler in. Add more drops, 4 or 5? until it just starts to pool on the top. I use a paperclip to slip down the side to get the juice that has pooled on the top to go down. If I think there's too much juice pooled at the top of the filler I just dab it onto a papertowel or kleenex. IF its a new atty I'll drop 2 drips on the bridge, insert cart into atty and vape. Make sure the filler is at the top of the cart and not down into the cart.

Yes, it takes some practice but honestly once I got my technique down I have no problem with my atty/carts and most often vape using that method. My own experience when I was getting my technique down was I was better off with a bit too much juice that might flood my atty that I could easily blow out then letting my atty get too dry. Rarely now do I have to blow out an atty and (crossed fingers here that I don't jinx myself :) but I don't remember the last time I had a problem with the burnt taste of it being too dry. As soon as I feel the vapor decreasing or the slightest feeling of tending to get to dry I stop and add drops to the top of my cart, use my paperclip, dab on the kleenex if I think its too filled and I'm ready to vape again. Every once in a while I need to actually take the filler out and start again with those 8 drops in the bottom before putting the filler back in and adding drops to the top. Good Luck!!

I knew about all those filler methods but they looks like too much trouble for me, I'm lazy. I tought cartridges could just work out of the box, seems like you need to fiddle with it a lot until you get the hang of it. Thanks a bunch for everything but looks to me that just dropping 2 drops into a drip tip is faster, easier, cleaner and you have a fresh vape more often, but if your method works for you then I'm happy :)

Yeah I hear you on that, whatever works for you just stick with it :vapor: I don't mind doing my cone-shape cart mods, it takes me about five minutes to fill 15 carts

Well Zurd there are cart people and drip people. No one way is the right way it is whatever works for you. I for one am in the drip camp. Tried all the carts and cart mod and just as you found that for me dripping is the way to go. I will however resort to a carto for driving and when I can not drip and in those situations I swear by the Boge LR 2.0 ohm soft tips. Enjoy the drips and happy vapes.
