Added to that AngeLsLuv, there are so many scams going on that eBay could easily put a stop to but they don't  For instance not in hand ticket sales. then of course there are so many fake items listed.

EBay banning the sale of e-cigs makes me wonder how many of their shares are owned by either the tobacco or drug companies.

Sorry to join this convo late but I do agree, eBay has some odd policies, they have removed listings I have had due to me using certain pics even though items were genuine, and have all sorts on sale but e-cigs are not allowed, you would think it would be a positive thing to give people an alternative to their addictions!

Unfortunately as with all things ebay related paypal often follow suit and i think its likely that paypal may introduce similar guidelines for merchants like many payment processors do with pharmaceutical related items.

I am getting a second account in case, better to be prepared. If ebay is no longer allowing people to sell e-cig products then why stay with paypal - they are expensive! Once people come away from selling on ebay I reckon many will ditch paypal too. I should integrate Nochex into my site this week, it doesnt hurt to be prepared should paypal disallow e-cig sales too! Dont want to lose anymore business!

google checkout is nice. I've got over 1500 dollars of computer parts from tigerdirect and they use it. Alot of other retailers are using it too. You can even search through google and find the products from retailers that use it and compare prices. Never had a problem yet with a bad product so never an oportunity to see how their buyer protection is.

its rotten news for those who rely on ebay to sell their e smoking wares.. trog

The decent sellers have some sympathy, but this move has been influenced by a number of parties, including Trading Standards and the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency).

I have watched ebay with interest since Trading Standards began 'enforcing' CHIP Compliancy, as we were always ahead of the game with packaging and labeling, along with another company that claims to be the only one offering liquid in CHIP Compliant containers:) We also use the regulation 18mm raised triangle tactile warning stickers for the visually impaired. I have found numerous companies both on ebay and the internet that are not CHIP Compliant and who advertise their products using Quit Smoking, Safe, Healthy claims. They are the unscrupulous cowboys out to make a quick killing and who do not care one iota about anything but their profit. TS and MHRA have cleaned up a lot of companies and made them raise their standards to an acceptable level, which not only protects those at risk, but also enhances our industry. The further we become entrenched in rules and regulations then the stronger our position becomes. Not only do we have to be responsible, we have to be seen to be responsible.
Although not a fan of ebay (over 7 years experience) I'm not surprised at the decision as they do not want to be at risk of any legal actions which could implicate them in 'illegal' sales. They have lived up to their reputation by not publicising the change with relevant information/explanation and in an email to a trader who sells on ebay said that it would all be explained after June 30th, which is when the ban begins!
Now sellers will have to put a little more into their businesses by creating websites and investing in e-commerce solutions, which will leave them more accessible to TS & MHRA who will ensure that they meet the current regulations and standards. Now that is a good thing as it will stop some of the 'black economy' sellers who sell on ebay without paying any taxes or overheads8-o
