EC Blend and Cool Hit?

I was looking around and checked out EC Blend where they have something called "Cool Hit".
"Cool Hit" is described as "the cooling effect of menthol without the minty taste".

Does anybody have any idea what is being used to achieve this?

I think I just stumbled on this in the DIY thread:

Koolada, from Perfumer's Apprentice... which has no flavor or taste but creates a cooling sensation minus any menthol taste.

Look at that, I think I answered my own question!

What exactly is koolada though? Is it safe to inhale? I too have been wondering about it for some time now.

According to TPA, it's "menthyl methyl lactate"... and is is FDA certified for food, as is all their flavor stuff.
