I have a Tap-a-Talk question too. I hope it's okay to enter into this tap thread. (forgive me if out of place).

Part 1. I downloaded it on chrome, just to get rid of the annoying tab that covers the log-in every visit. I have to wait for the tab to exit before signing in each visit even though I've already downloaded it.
Part 2. Upon closing the forum, a notifyer tab comes up to let me know that tap-a-talk is no longer notifying me of mssgs to this forum.
Part 3. Upon loggin in, the notifyer tells me I am now receiving tap-a-talk notifications.

What good is tap-a-talk if it doesn't work when I'm offline???

sign me confused or lost or dummer than dumb, but sheesh....

I understand it is better to use Tap Talk when you are on an Android tablet . . . And that ECF has it's own version or something . . . Can some one explain? Or lead me to the interface that can be used on a tablet . . . Thanks!

First you must have the Tapatalk application installed, which I'm assuming you do.

Then you just load the forum normally using the Tapatalk application. Same is true for a tablet or a smartphone.

If you don't have the app, of course you can load it from the Market. It isn't a free application, it cost $2.99 and more info can be found here https://market.android.com/details?...mNvbS5xdW9vcmQudGFwYXRhbGtwcm8uYWN0aXZpdHkiXQ..

Ok, Tapatalk extension for Chrome is only meant for notifications when you are logged into the forum. I use it because it notifies me immediately if a PM comes in. That's all it does, as far as I know. I'm sure it's a development in progress and more features will come in time.

The Tapatalk the OP is referring to is for the Android operating system, whether it's a tablet or smartphone. It's a more useful application and makes the forum more manageable from the smartphone aspect. I use it on my Droid 2 phone, it's really handy when I'm unable to access the forums from my laptop.

I hope this explains it a little better.

Thanks for your explanations. I think I'm getting the hang of this now. All this new fangled stuff gets overwhelming for people like me who still can't even figure out how to program a vcr lol.
I do have Droid, also, but haven't downloaded the tapatalk as of yet, but I will now that I know more about it.
I won't worry about not receiving mssgs when I'm signed out now either. I assume the forum mssg notifier will work the same as it always has for me.
