For the record: it's a 2010 Dell (Wal Mart) Windows 7 Home Edition w/ Intel Pentium (?). The desktop comes up, complete with taskbar and thumbnails. The signal display from the taskbar shows fully connected to our home wifi.
But when I try Chrome, IE, or Email, it tries and tries but fails to connect.
I miss my laptop. And keyboard. ECF is so much easier that way.

Start by rebooting your router and PC.
    From a google tech:

"In Windows 7 you can reset your IP by clicking on START then open ACCESSORIES then first right click on COMMAND PROMPT and then select in the drop down menu by your pointer arrow "Run As Administrator" else this won't work. Then open COMMAND PROMPT and type this inside exactly as here:

netsh int ip reset c:reset log.txt

You will then need to reset your computer and the job is done"

You could have an issue with the NIC in the pc. I have seen on many occasions where the wifi card is the issue. Without being hands on its a guess, you could try a usb wifi adaptor. Looks like a thumb drive but receives wifi signals, cheaper than a new pc. Also sounds like could be a dns issue.
I could tell you a few things to check in command prompt but not gonna type it all out unless you want to try it.
Us Union county folk gotta help each other out!

You could use your phone easier with a real keyboard or mouse (possibly the two) with what we call an otg adapter (usb on the go cable) they're widely available in both usb-c and normal mico variety and allow you (in MOST cases to plug devices in your phone)

Otherwise i have 0 issues atm with the mobile page using chrome on my phone works pretty darn well now, even though it's faster on my mobile data then wifi.

Belhade, feel free to send it my way. LOL, I can always use a backup computer.

Those little tablet-y things and netbooks were the worst, for me. They were too light and I was dropping them all the time. Now I have the very largest size HP I could get my hands on, nice and heavy.... :)

The husband was deeply traumatized until we figured out the size and lightness of the netbooks were a problem. They're cheap, but not drop all the time cheap. :)

    Beat me to it.

I use my S6 Edge for presentations almost exclusively. All I need is a wiFi connection to the projector or screen, and even that's unnecessary if the screen has Samsung SmartHub.

ETA: Galaxy class phones have had this since at least the S3. I dunno if iPhones do, but I'm betting that they don't.
