Beat me to it.

I use my S6 Edge for presentations almost exclusively. All I need is a wiFi connection to the projector or screen, and even that's unnecessary if the screen has Samsung SmartHub.

ETA: Galaxy class phones have had this since at least the S3. I dunno if iPhones do, but I'm betting that they don't.

iPhones can do PP presentations using a third party app which I think was $3-4.

IPhones can do anything android phones do, they just charge you extra for it. I was pretty darn disgusted when they decided not to have a headphone jack, since they could charge extra for getting some little adaptor thing. So, so lame. :( And thanks to that, a lot of android phones are following suit. Amazingly, I never break phones and mine is over 4 years old though I think Verizon is actively trying to break it at the moment by endless updates. Any too much more of it, I will be turning them off.

You just can't have something you like, when it comes to electronics, sadly, technology drives all of us.

Thing is that Bluetooth headphones are getting so cheap that it is simply not cost effective to put headphone jacks in things like phones anymore. Just picked up a set for my Daughter for 29.00. There was another set there for under 20.00 and I saw a Black Friday sale for some at 5.00.

Bluetooth headphones (especially the cheap ones) don't have the same sound quality IMO, and they're bulkier usually at least the ones I've seen. But, technology drives us all... .:)

Have an iPhone 7+ that I haven't used since April, and a galaxy S8+ I use daily. One of the benefits where I work is getting headphones cheap. I have AirPods that cost me $30. Ugle as hell but great sound & features. Tiny, cept for the fugly piece that makes it look like you're wearing earrings.

I use my phone for everything. Escribe is all I use a computer for anymore.

I first tried a Bluetooth headphones back in the BlackBerry era. The were AWFUL. No range, and if you get them to pair you couldn't walk anywhere without the phone on you.

My daughter just got me a set of really nice Bluetooth headphones for my birthday because of the disappearing headphone jack.I was very surprised that they sounded way better than I expected, and I have some higher end phones to compare to. They also have larger area of coverage as I can walk around the house and leave the phone somewhere else in the apartment. I'm getting used to not have a headphone wire not getting all tangled up.

If you are getting the AirPods for $30 that is a very good deal. Looked at those too. Almost $100 at the store I was at.

Yeah, wasn't interested in them until then. They're remarkably good & useful even with an Android. Mores so, obviously with an iPad or iPhone.

And We're Back ! WooHoo !

Turned out better than me. My new laptop gets here tomorrow. I probably could just replace the drive in my current one, but I suspect there's more wrong than that. Plus, I'm a retired geek, and it has been 4 years...
But it sure wrecked my vaping budget for a while.

Ive got an extra puter left over... it was top of the line when I got it... paid a fortune for it..

Tri-Star TriCAD 486/33: enough power for tomorrow. (Hardware Review) (Evaluation) - Computer Shopper | HighBeam Research

Way back when Pentiums were new my (also a geek) husband pointed out to me one day that we really were using a 286 as a door stop.

Not being a typist, I surf ECF mostly on an 8" tablet with a keyboard that suggests words as I type. If my pc wasn't 6yrs old, I would try to partition it off with a win7/chromebook setup.

I have a fancy Kindle that does that (still have to proofread things before posting) and I did get by with just that a couple of years ago when I broke my ankle bones in 3 places and spent the summer doing inpatient physical therapy. But I have serious problems with my hands so having a full sized keyboard in front of me is way easier to manage than poking at that small screen with a stylus.

Maybe it's time to try voice typing. Probably easier than you think. I use my tablet horizontally and the keyboard is 2/3 the size of my PC.
Good to see you here, happy holiday season to you and yours.

I've tried voice typing and it worked well, but 2 large cats thought I was calling to them. Every time.
I'm actually getting pretty good at typing with 1 finger and the thumb doing the space bar.
