ECF search is redirecting to Google page?

unless it's just me, I'm getting taken to
Custom Search Engine
no matter what i type in search box in upper right

egads did I change a setting somewhere?

I just did a search and it didn't take me to that google site.... but the results I got are all old, and the selection, relevance vs newest isn't available....

Not for me. I never got it before, and I've been using the ECF search feature since July.

I'm at ECF, and want to search for the Deal and Steals topic, there would be no reason me to be taken off site into google custom search.

I am not used to being directed off the ECF site

I messed around in google and my settings here yesterday, so just trying to find out if it's me or ECF change....pretty sure there's nothing I would have done to take me out of ECF though. :

I get the same as the OP if I use the regular search box - it takes me to a page titled Google Custom Search Engine and asks me if I'd like to create a custom search engine on my page.

If I use advanced search, however, I get the results I would expect, i.e. similar to Rolygate's post.

Odd. I'm using Chrome. I'll try the suggestions and see what happens.

Yes, clearing the cache and cookies fixed it - now I get regular search results. Thanks!

Rolygate, I have cleared every imaginable thing, thru both IE and Google Chrome. Every cache, passwords, setting possible.
I have re-booted 4 times. What makes no sense is that ECF still retains my Remember Me, so none of this is doing any good.

If I go to ECF without signing in, I can do a search and not reach the google search page. The search contains itself to ECF only.

However, as soon as i sign in, and do a search, it reverts back to redirecting me to google search page again.

Any thoughts? I've even completely disconnected from Google and am not even signed in when I sign in here. Yet, ECF coninues to retain my password as soon as I input my username. I'm stuck in some kinda loop.

Okay, cleared everything again. Cache, passwords, the whole works. In both IE and Chrome.
Disconnected from anything having to do with google chrome.
Signed out of Chrome completely. Signed out of Google and Gmaiil.
Turned off every kind of synching possible.
Rebooted
Come to ECF. Without signing in, seach works and keeps me within ECF.
Signing in, and choosing do not remember me.
As soon as I log into ECF again, using the search feature, I am again taken outside of ECF to the google search.

I'm a a loss now for sure.

finally, success.

If you have any kind of synching set up with google accounts, you've pretty much lost control over your entire computer these days.

It only took me 2 hours to figure out how to turn off all these demons.
