Hello everyone! Well, as we have seen, ECF has gone through some changes over the past couple of weeks but it looks like things are moving along quite well now. And we all "survived" the recent outage and SJ is moving onto bigger and better things with a new server here pretty soon so....more positive changes to come for ECF!

What I'd like to focus on a bit more is greeting and helping the new members. I realize some have more interest (and patience) in this area and they are doing a great job! I hope others will join in and help as well. Whether you share suggestions, personal experiences or even providing links...every little bit helps. You can remember when you were new and needed advice, can't you?

And unlike some other forums, I don't think we need to use insults or bashing to assist and educate other members here. It has been quite peaceful here but I would not mistake this for boring....goodness, there are lots of areas here to get involved in!

Everyone seems to have their own niche or areas of special interest....some popular areas are the social groups, modders forum, reviews board, tips & tricks, news, campaigning and law, vaping in public, and vaping and health:

Social Group Forums - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

You can also find a list of all available social groups by clicking on the "Quick Links" above, then "Social Groups". You can even start a new group if you'd like but be aware that it won't show on the main forum until you have at least 5 members.

People leave for various reasons, but new ones come in every day here. We currently have over 12,000 members, with over 5000 active ones....and steadily growing. That's a lot of people to interact with!

Hopefully the long standing members who are still active here will continue to impart their wisdom on us (heck, I still learn something new here every day!), and the newer members will stick around, learn and pass on their knowledge to the ones who follow. Hopefully ECF is going to be around for a lonnngggg time and we, as its members, will make it what it is...and it certainly doesn't need to be a battlefield to be productive and thrive! I suspect just the opposite will prove to be true ;)

So peeps...let's get out there, learn and help each other in whatever way we can. We should all be proud to be members of the largest and most informative e-cigarette forum on the net! I know I am! :)

If anyone has anything positive to add, please feel free. How about some of your favorite informative links to share? All I ask is that you stay on topic.

Thanks all!

Lu

Lu.......Very nice thread!! As you said we all have our niches here...I hope to find out what mine is sometime in the near future...Until then I will just classify myself as an ECF Veteran FanBoy! Here is my one suggestion, let's refer to the "newbs" at ECF as "junior members"...It's just has a nicer ring to it IMO! United We Stand!!:)The Wiz!

Very nice post indeed Lu!!! I as well as many here have helped New Members for half a year now and enjoy dong so. We all bring something to the table here and enjoy sharing and learning. Helping out a New Member is very rewarding and I know so many of us do it even if we have answered the same question over 100 times, it makes no difference as it is the 100 people individually that learned something that was for them, a new issue.

I do not think a day goes by here that I do not learn something here and I am sure many feel the same way------------Sun

Hi MK. Actually, I'd like to figure out a way for those who want to advertise their groups to be able to do that. A few have asked me if they can sticky the links but I'd have to run that by SJ. Unfortunately, if you do it for one, you'd have to do it for all and that would be a lot of stickies! lol

But maybe we can come up with a way to inform the new members of these groups as I'm sure a lot of them don't see them. I think some put links in their sig line which might help....but maybe everyone doesn't want to do that.

Hi Lu!
That is a good Idea! How about 1 sticky with "Join Social Clubs Here"! Or "View Social Clubs". Then you could have the clubs listed with discriptions of each or just a link that takes you to the page that lists all the Clubs. AND a how to get in tutorial. I reallly want a big red button that says "Enter Here"!

It does get a little confusing since all the clubs aren't listed in the general section.
I don't know how to put links in my sig, plus I have 2 to link!

One more note, I think Social Clubs are a good way to test the waters here. It's a very big place and it's nice to see familiar people when you post.
Delete this post if it's too off topic.

Helping out a New Member is very rewarding and I know so many of us do it even if we have answered the same question over 100 times,

It should be rewarding because, in many cases, mine for example, you've changed our lives in a significant manner. You been of great help, Sun... and to all that contribute their ideas.... Thanks!

You're welcome MK. I wasn't even thinking of having one central sticky for the info. Yeh, I don't know who'll add a comment there because only a few seemed to express interest to me but I think it's at least worth it for those who so desire. And if it gets bumped a lot and I don't happen to notice, feel free to drop me a line and let me know it needs "cleaning out".

Thanks,
Lu

Hello again everyone! Well, since I first posted this, our member count has risen to 13,571....with still over 5000 active members :thumb:

Since we have so many new members coming in every day, I thought I'd repost some of the more popular links so they can be viewed and utilized. Lots of interesting info around here....and helpful members....so don't be afraid to ask when you need help!

Enjoy, everyone! :)
