Ecig made me sick

This is the second time I've become sick which could be linked to my ecig. I went to the doctor and they couldn't determine what it was. My symptoms are headache and stomachache, which only have lasted a few days. Another symptom is swollen lymph nodes which lasted five days the first time I became sick. It could be many things but I believe it is due to my copper attomizer. I attempted to give the atomizer an patina but it was unsuccessful. Very dumb of me considering I was dealing with dangerous chemicals. I believe the chemicals leached into my atomizer and that' is what is making me sick. What do you think? Is there anyway to purge the atomizer of chemicals?

I think it's pretty silly to use a copper topper;
use stainless steel; pay attention to the insulators, not the colors.

but just remember you don't actually know what you were sick with, so don't be jumping to conclusions

What do you mean by "Very dumb of me considering I was dealing with dangerous chemicals." I mean , if you are inhaling something like toluene at work I can't connect the dots to your e-cig gear making you sick.

@Rickajho I tried to apply a patina using ammonia in a sealed container. I looked up symptoms of getting sick from ammonia and it's somewhat similiar

Well, you could be sick from any number of things, but I suggest a SS atomizer. If nothing else, it will help you rule out vaping.

Stick to doing patina only on mods.

A lot of people are against copper attys, incl. Rip. I personally have no problems with vaping with copper. I mean, sure people patina their copper MODS, but not the atty, you inhale from it, why would you use chemicals.....

As for washing it out. I would try vinegar? Need confirmation from people in the thread.

I don't think vaping caused this. I think it was the very dumb idea to patina something you put your mouth on or very close by made you sick. Being within 5 feet of ammonia is enough to give me the same feelings you got. Nonetheless putting it to your mouth. Claiming an ecig made you sick is not the thing to say.

I've done force patina's on mods themselves, but would never do an atty. If anything I would torch and atty to turn it blue/purple.

Not sure how to get the chemicals off, but I'd say go buy another RDA. You can buy a mutation x or clt for cheap at shops.

316 stainless, Glass or stainless drip tip, and organic cotton Boil the cotton then nuke it for 10 seconds.then your built proof ! I dont think Vaping is your problem but Im a Iron worker not a doctor so its not for me to say.

I apologize for the misleading thread title, I will probably dispose of that atty and just buy the same one(maybe a different color), I love the Stillare v3

Sounds like a good plan to me. I use SS attys and though I do use brass drip tips, I know how to make them safe. If you're in any doubt about material choices, use SS from known good manufacturers and retailers.

OTOH, you don't yet really know anything about what made you sick so it could be anything vape related or otherwise. Best of luck with it and stay safe!

I'd echo the masses and suggest not using ammonia or any other harsh chemical on an atomizer.

Its a little like saying "I dripped high octane racing fuel in my Tugboat. My e-cig burned my mouth. "

Common sense allows us to understand copper is used in high end cookware and in The water pipes that service your home.

IMHO it's possible that you didn't remove all the cleaner from your atty buy I would guess there's another problem causing your issue.

Putting ammonia in your atomizer. Thats the first I've heard that. Its probably wise to remember the whole point of vaping is to avoid inhaling toxic chemicals

Just to make things more clear, I did not put ammonia in my atomizer. I place my copper top in a sealed container attached to kanthal wire. The ammonia was soaked in a paper towel beneath the copper top, but it's possible it came into contact by mistake.
