From everything i have read on the ProVari, it's top notch, and Provape really takes care of their customers. Ordered mine this week and it should be in my hands monday. :)

Dragging on a KR808 now and fanticizing about what a top shelf PV will be like. ;)

I'm a bit new with this... How do you like your PV? I was looking at PV9 but decided to get the cheap option of PV5... I guess it will be better than my RN4081 but are you liking what you got now? and why did you swap?

I actually ordered the ProVari before I even had my KR808 kit delivered. :D The 808 has been doing pretty good for me. No analogs since I started with it yesterday, and no real cravings after I switched from 18mg to 24mg juice. I haven't had to rely on the battery aspect of it much yet though. My kit came with a USB passthrough PV and I've always been near a computer except when driving. I can tell a difference in power between the battery and the PT versions of the 808 though. The ProVari advertises a consistent voltage via boost technology, so if you set it at 4.5 volts, it will consistently output that voltage until the battery goes dead (which can be more than a day).

I'd mentioned in a thread that I'd probably be big into DIY modding and someone said that once you start that, it doesn't stop until you get a ProVari. Did a lot of research on it and really liked what I saw so I decided to just skip the modding step and go straight to the big gun. :)

I'll still keep the 808 around as a backup though in case something does happen to the ProVari.

I don't know if you can really go wrong but I have been using a provari and I really like it . I have gotten use to being able to test the atomizer or cartridge ohms . I like different things at different voltages and like being able to set it with a menu instead of guessing with a VV wheel . After you get use to the weight it feels good and handles good . I even bought a lanyard for it from the baglady on this site .

I've only been doing this for about 5-6 weeks but I've modded myself a passthrough and didn't like the voltage on my computer to the atomizer in my RN4081 so what I did is I got my old FREELOADER battery which is great because it charges solar as well as can charge USB but the better thing is I use it as a voltage regulator. It has 2 ports that handle both input and output so even in my car or computer it is better to have the battery intercept the source voltage. Then when I need to be mobile I still have my walking battery. I don't know if they do this in the US but look at FREELOADER batteries. It's worth it!

Congrats on stopping! I've not looked back since. My battery broke down and around the 3 week mark I smoked normal cigarettes for 3 days waiting for my replacement ecig and found it to be the worse experience. I find reg smokes disgusting which is GREAT!!! I'm not going back unless another emergency of the same nature occurs. I prefer the vaping taste and experience hands down!!!

Keep at it! I'm sure you won't let yourself down!

Cheers!

Started with an eGo, used it for about two weeks, discovered this forum and read about the Provari. Have had one for about 3 weeks (ordered the extender kit and the 2500 mAh batteries); I really enjoy the Provari and its flexibility for changing voltages, checking on the battery charge state, and the atty resistance. Use the Provari at home and use the eGo out in public.

Good luck with vaping and staying off analogues.

I don't own a darwin but if they ever redesign the look of it it might be interesting to try . I have no problem with the way it works just the way it looks .

Yeah, I think they both (Darwin/ProVari) nailed the technical side of a mod, but Provape packaged theirs better. They got the 'cool' factor involved (imo anyway). :)

I'm out in public a lot. I get quite a few positive comments about my Darwin. Several have said they like that it looks like a device from Star Trek and does not look like a cigarette. I like that it lays flat and won't roll off flat surfaces.

If you're using a passthrough without a battery box, for the sake of your computer, get a wall plug adapter. USB ports were not designed for such a power draw and it can damage your computer. With the battery boxes, all it is doing it keeping the battery charged but a passthrough straight to the computer is bad!

Have heard this from a couple people now. Won't be an issue after tomorrow when my ProVari arrives. My custom desktop here at home is a bit overpowered and hasn't had any issues at all yet. Still almost new as well so all the components are still under warranty.

Don't really care about my laptop at work. :D If that fries I get a week paid off doing nothing while they get me a new one. Heheh

Igetcha69 did a review of the Darwin awhile back on Youtube. Spoiler: He didn't like it and rips on it pretty hard. He addressed the couple concerns I had about them, mainly does the arm wiggle about and how sensitive the scroll wheel is.

He got raked pretty good for a bad review and that he totally did not understand the technology behind the Darwin. I believe he came on here and posted that he did miss some points he should have made on the positive aspects of the Darwin.

On the arm, it is ROCK SOLID. There have never been any issues with the arm and should not be any concern at all. On the adjustment wheel being too sensitive, I and many of us agree with that. I do not consider that much of an issue as it works fine but you do need to get the hang of the wheel's sensitivity.

Does the DCT/MAP tank fit on the Darwin?

I use dual coils all the time on my Darwin. With cartos that are over sized, you won't be able to put the arm in the off position with the carto attached. But since you get anywhere from 14-21 hours on a charge, it doesn't really matter to most of us. It closes enough with a mega DCC that I have no problem getting in my pocket.
