Currently I am using the Nataulis aspire tank...however, I use it at 19-20W with 70vg/30pg juice on the lowest(ie.least) airflow possible, with 6mg nicotine. However, I have been going through my coils every 4-5days, which the sales person at my vape store said that would happen because the nataulis is not equipped for the high wattage. I'm not a cloud-chaser, I prefer a great throat hit rather than seeing it. The sub-ohm tanks is capable of the high wattage, but the airflow is bigger, which I don't like. Is there a tank that can handle the high wattage and has the least airflow like the Nataulis aspire?

I can't seem to find anything of that sort, but like the sales lady says, I like the opposite of everybody else in the world.

The Melo 3 on its lowest airflow setting is pretty tight. Easily as tight as the high setting on the nautilus.

Huh?

To the OP, you dont nessicarily need to have high wattage to achive a good throat hit. It all depends on the coil material/gauge and heatflux it delivers.

If you can, id sudjest using a rebuildable and make your own coils.

You can't have high wattage and low airflow. It's like having a fast car that gets 40 mpg, it's not possible. I would suggest the Innokin (spelling?) Prism tanks. It has great throat hit and plenty of vapor. I run mine at 14 watts. I have plenty of sub-tanks and about 6 RTAS, and after 10 beers I'm using the t22 tank. I used to smoke Marlboro reds BTW.

Heatflux huh? Do you even own a melo 3?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still new to vaping..2 years and really like the simplicity

I just looked up this tank and looks like the ideal wattage is 14.. which I'm a little nervous about since I like to run 19-20w. Also the coils I'm using on the aspire is 1.8ohm and the prism is 1.5ohm...which would prob. Mean I'll be changing the coils even faster than what I am now. I used to smoke malboto menthols so I like that cool throat hit...

The throat hit you're probably getting is from burning your coils too hot. There are other ways of getting high throat hit.. here's some generalized things that people prefer, and how to get them.. some or none will appeal.

throat hit: High PG content (will lower cloud visibility) and nicotine.
flavor: better juice, higher vapor to air ratio.
clouds: more coils, higher wattage, higher VG (less throat hit)
Heat: higher wattage, more coils.

If you like throat hit, but don't care about clouds, try going to a higher PG based liquid or raising your nicotine content. Raising the wattage on a Nautilus will give you more vapor, but it will burn the coils. IF I had to "customize" my vape for your liking, I would find a 25vg/75pg juice which is not common.. or at least try a 50/50. If you get a sub ohm tank, yes, it will take higher wattage, but it is designed for cloud chasing, so it will have a higher airflow too. if you restrict the airflow too much, you'll be burning through those coils as well.

And yes, there are many of us that like the flavor more than the vapor. They call us "tootie puffer" because we aren't into the clouds, and usually vape a higher ohm build.

That is real high for Nautilus coils. Most people keep them down to 17 watts and under.

If you want throat hit switch to a higher percenrage PG Juice

The "Huh" was directed at the comment.

Op wants a tighter airflow than the nautilus at its lowest airflow.

As you compare it, the melo 3 at its lowest setting is somewhat similar to the nautilus at full setting.

How is this a recomendation for tighter airflow? Seems backwards.

And to answer your question, no, i don't own a melo or plan on it.

1. I can't see the sense in deliberately running BVC coils at such high power (?) I am surprised you haven't had coil disasters in under 24 hours.
2. You could consider trying a subtank (nano or mini) with the 0.5ohm coil up to 25+ watts with the airflow shut down to minimum. I just tried it. 27 watts, MTL; you can draw for 2-3 seconds then it gets too warm for me.

It was only a general comment, I didn't realize I was under such scrutiny. It may well be that the melo 3 lowest setting is the same as the nautilus on the first setting (I haven't currently tested). How about you buy both and tell us the info that we need. Maybe you need to re-read my post "easily as tight as the high setting on the nautilus".

Lol tootie puffer? How come we get that and they get a cool name like cloud chaser? Lol, anyway, yes, I used to get my ration 80pg/20vg through mt. Vapor baker and since they are good, I can't seem to find a flavor close to your mom from sicboy, which is my ultimate favorite. It has a yogurt flavor taste. I've tried to customize it, but didn't work. I guess I'll try to find a juice with that consistency with similar taste as it seems to be my only option..

I think that's your best bet. The Nautilus is a great tank. It's been one of the mainstays of the vaping industry for quite a while. It's what I would call a Thoroughbred.... it's a proven design and a good one at that. I've seen tank styles come and go, but this one has been around for a while, and is still popular and an all day vape for many people. It's strong points are a 5ml capacity and flavor, a restrictive airflow, and reasonable price. It is my #1 choice for recommending someone to get off of analog cigarettes due to the airflow and flavor.. it's simply a good tank.

There are other tanks out there that are good, and some tanks out there appeal to some people more than others. One of my favorites is a Fogger V4.0.... they don't make that anymore, and the Fogger v5.0 is horrible. I walked into the vape shop once because I lost the fill screw... they GAVE me a fogger V5 saying "you're the only one we've seen that likes a fogger"... It works for me.

And one last note... while you look for tanks, many other people go into rebuildables to cut down on cost and to customize their vape. If you're in to tinkering, and don't mind spending 30 minutes building a coil or two, you might want to consider making your own coils. It has a learning curve to it, but it does allow for you to build what you like.

And as far as the name "tootie puffer".....the tootie puffer doesn't vape for the namesake, or any of the "coolness" factors.. we simply like the flavahs and are glad to be off the stinkies...

Ahem, it's Tootle Puffer not Tootie Puffer:D I am one. It was originally meant as a slight to moderate vapers but has since been embraced by us Tootle Puffers.

So what’s a tootle puffer? Someone who vapes at low power, and doesn’t make big clouds.

You might be a Tootle Puffer if:

1. You don’t exceed 20W
2. You own an Ego, Provari, or 10 or 20W istick
3. You own a non subohm clearomizer
4. You collect MolehillMountain drip tips
5. You have no interest in subohming
6. You have a Kayfun, but not an Orchid
7. You have a single coil dripper built over 1 ohm

Trust me 14 watts on that tank is plenty, it's a nice warm vape. With my Menthol e-liguid my coils last about 1-2 weeks. Lower resistance doesn't equal lower coil life. Whoever told you that is wrong. I've had 2.0 coils last a day and .25 coils last a month.

Funny you should say this, I just made a review on this! I got the tank instead of the whole kit, but the kit is really pretty with matching battery so may get one of those too.

Endura T18 Prism Tank

I had the t18 but I lost the dang thing in Cleveland. I now have the t22 tank on my ipvd3. Out of all my tanks, I'm using the starter tank

been using the t18 kit for a few months now- excellent vape. Tried the tank on my V2.5 provari at 4.8 volts- even better!!!. Better than my mini nautilus bvc. Best tootle tank I reckon . B.K.
