Hello All!

On Dec 30/2014 I ordered an IPV2s and some Kanthal wire from Eciggity. The order was paid for with a prepaid Visa card and everything went perfectly smooth until the tracking information was emailed to me.

The tracking information from USPS has always shown as PRE-SHIPMENT. I inquired with ECiggity and they said that sometimes this happens and I should receive my package on schedule. Well in two days it will be a month...

Further messaging with Eciggity has proved somewhat helpful but they claim that it is the responsibility of USPS to find my package. Since I am in Canada I cannot submit an inquiry on the USPS site as it has to be done by the US sender. Eciggity said they tried to film a claim for the package but because of the shipping method and being an international package it doesn't work.

The USPS Tracking Info:
Code:
USPS Product & Tracking Information
Postal Product: First-Class Package International Service
Features: Delivery Confirmation International

HONOLULU, HI 96826

December 30, 2014 , 1:32 pm Acceptance
HONOLULU, HI 96826

Tracking info still shows as PRE-SHIPMENT...

Any opinion on how I should proceed with this? Is it the fault of USPS or Eciggity? I can file a claim with the credit card company but that will be another month and they state IF I win the dispute it will be refunded. From the tracking info it appears to be that the package should have been dropped off at the post office, it that an out for Eciggity or should they be responsible?

All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I never had problems with eciggity. Ordered a couple times and got everything from Hawaii to Alabama in 3 days. I know when I sent something to a friend in Canada from Alabama to Ontario it took 3 weeks. I'd blame USPS before eciggity. Not sure what the best route for you to go is, I'll let someone else say an opinion on that.part.

I ordered only once from eciggity and it took 43 days to get delivered. I think it got put into a container and shipped by boat over the ocean. I haven't ordered from them since.

Oh, gosh, maybe they did that with the OP's order as well.

To me this looks like a USPS issue. However, the seller does have to file the claim. I don't know how that works for international shipments, sorry.

BEggcity is responsible to make YOU, their customer, happy. You are not the customer in the USPS part of the transaction Eggcity is, So that makes Eggcity responsible till you accept delivery.

Agree w/this.

Eggcity is USPS's customer and they need to file a claim w/USPS to find the article and/or cover their loss.

Meantime, as a vendor, while filing and waiting for that paperwork, they "should" just send you out another order.

I really don't know any vendors who wouldn't, I mean, that's what maintaining good will is all about in a biz. they are only out wholesale price anyway. And there is always, if run properly, allowance for damaged and lost items in any business plan.

On your end, if they won't reimburse or make you whole, then follow up with your CC company and start proceedings for a charge back.

Sheesh.

Give it another week and then proceed.

You may also file a negative review in the ECF negative review section. Eggcity may reply with a rebuttle, but it puts their name up in lights. :)

Thanks Racehorse!

I wasn't sure if they had a presence here on ECF or not so I'll wait another week or two and see what happens. If it still has not arrived, I'll ask them again about making my order right and let them know of this thread. I really don't want to submit a CC charge back and post a Negative Review, but as you say it is a small loss for them and good PR on ECF should be worth something.

Right behind you...
I had that happen three times when I lived in Vancouver. Two were Amazon orders, and in both cases Amazon just shipped me new goods. The other was a large motorcycle parts and accessories vendor (the item was a $600 helmet), and they left me to deal with USPS/Canada Post on my own for almost two months before finally issuing a refund once I got my credit card company involved. Needless to say, I'm still an Amazon customer, but never again a customer of that other vendor.

Oh, and one of those Amazon packages finally showed up about a month after my replacement order did. Was about $400 USD worth of computer parts, and I did the "right thing" by telling Amazon that the lost package finally arrived. They told me to keep it. :)

I also learned that it was usually safer and more cost effective to go with FedEx/DHL/UPS 2nd day air shipping on big ticket items, since they didn't charge COD customs brokerage fees based on shipment value, they hardly if ever lose priority packages, nothing sat around in customs, ever, and I got my stuff quick instead of waiting an extra week (or forever). Pretty easy to figure out what the brokerage fees will be on a normal shipment, but as a good rule of thumb, anything over about $250 CAD was better off going 2nd day, providing the vendor didn't mark up the shipping and it wasn't an oversize parcel.

I recently made a purchase from Vaporleaf, and was sent the wrong item. This was my first purchase from them, and the item was on clearance for $20. Yet, they sent me the correct item, along with a prepaid bubble mailer to return the wrong item. I was out nothing, and they trusted me to return it. That's great CS. Guess who I will buy from again?

Thanks Croak!

All good information and yes anything expensive would justify FedEx shipping for sure.

If it comes down to escalating the issue and the package does eventually show up, I to will let them know it has arrived and make arrangements to return it. I am sort of hoping to see it arrive with the big yellow CBSA tape all over it. If that does happen I will definitely do an updated post for them here on ECF.

There are some great sellers out there roxynoodle.

The same thing happened this week with an order from FatDaddy Vapes in Hawaii, they had sent me the wrong screws for my Kayfun deck along with my 510 V4 connector order. I had ordered the knurled deck screws and was sent the regular ones. A quick FB message to them and Dennis from FD tossed the proper screws in a tracked envelope that same day no charge. I am a first time buyer of his as well, offered to send the wrong screws back and he never mentioned them. Now that is a great seller who operates out of his house as opposed to a warehouse company.

A couple of comments:

1. Tracking indicates USPS had the package, so it's on them, not on the vendor.
2. As others have said, it's the vendor who needs to file a complaint/report, or whatever.
3. Not sure why you would order from Hawaii, since it always makes things more complicated! Unless you're getting Chinese prices, I'd stick with either Canadian or Continental American companies. (And things seem to have fewer problems if you just order Canadian; no customs to potentially screw things up!).

Actually this is true. USPS from Hawaii to Canada will wait until there is a full mail-container before they load it on a ship to Canada. They'll only send overnight packages off of Hawaii via air. I've heard many tales about this in the last few years.
