No one spends on computer until and unless you are a gamer or an overclocker. But at around 75 years of age, I really doubt you will be either, :p. So what is it?

Never say never. i have played several online games with people over 60! And they were awesome.

Yep, I'm 65 and I play World of Warcraft with my grown kids. I enjoy the game and it keeps my brain active. Already pre-purchased Lords of Draenor and can't wait until it comes out.

I also have a Kindle which I love since I'm an avid reader. It's the first time in my life in which I can get free books to read.

I love the 21st Century!!!

You don't have to make a large investment...but it's a whole new buying spree of stuff. My biggest investment was 4 liters of nic base. That was close to $500. A new DIY person would absolutely not need that much. I wanted a liberty and freedom insurance policy stored in my freezer. Feels pretty good.

The bare minimum requirements look something like this:

1. 120mls of nic base
2. 250mls of pg and vg
3. 1,3,5ml syringes
4. couple blunt tip needes
5. (10) 10ml vials of flavors
6. 10,15,30ml juice bottles

All in would be less than $200. But then problems set in....and 100 flavors later you realize you need more of everything...lol

Now that's more agreeable with my pocket! Though...I do like your thought process of having the "liberty and freedom insurance policy" in the freezer. Of course my goal to get to 0 nic might suffer from that. lol Would definitely have to add more flavors to the pot though. I do like a variety. :)

Yikes! Doesn't nic base have a shelf life, something like two years?

I DIY with a MUCH less initial investment. You only need a little bit of flavoring, so a 10 ml bottle of flavor is a LOT.

I estimate my initial DIY investment was less then $60, and I still have some flavors left over from that initial purchase.

If you find flavors you are content with, it is a very cheap process.

120 mls of 48 mg/ml of Nicotine is $9.99 at Wizard Labs. 8 ml of flavoring from same - $1.49

PG and VG are equally as cheap.

Nope, 5+ easy. Nobody really knows how long it can store. There's a chemist in the DIY forum named Kurt. He believes it can go maybe 10. you have to store it properly though. I have 120 glass bottles with poly seal caps and vacuum sealed each individual bottle. I keep them in my icebox at a constant 0F.

Light and air are the only 2 things that degrade nic. Depending on how much of each nic is exposed to will determine the oxidation process.

Even oxidized nic base is totally fine. It just loses some strength. I have nic test kits. If i open a bottle of 100mg/ml and it tests out at 90 in 5 years, I'll just adjust for it.

ARGGG...you mean to tell me that if I want to get into DIY, I will have a large investment? Yikes...I was thinking about it, but now I think I might have to wait awhile.

Nope, ya don't. You can but don't have to. I got into DIY liquids to save money and I am. Lots. I have it down to about 8 cents per ml and think I can shave a bit off that. I figure I'm around 50 cents a day on juice use. And my start up was cheap.

For that matter, if you're just starting out doing DIY, I wouldn't suggest buying too much. You're going to screw up and waste some juice your first time out. Start small and add as you get experience. Don't try to stock up a 5 year supply your first week. :)

So all these flavorings can be uses in DIY liquids?

It starts that way...lurking on the DIY threads and trying out recipes, etc. After a bit one tends to settle down.
My cigar box full of flavors smells awesome, though!

You can try 10 flavors for around $15
120 mls of nic base = $ 10
120 mls of VG = $3
120 mls of PG = $3

That is less then $35. With that you can make at least 240 mls of juice.

The price of not being dependent on vendors or the post office AND customizing my mix = PRICELESS.

I am constantly switching flavors. I have several that I can vape all day, but not all day everyday. That's why I think I need a lot of flavors to DIY. I can see it now...I'll be a mixing junkie trying to find one that suits me all day everyday.

Oh I wouldn't. :) I think I will find some DIY recipes on here that I think I might like and go from there. Not sure if this will be for me yet so I would definitely start small.

Yes...I think I would like to try this for the sole ability of customizing...and that's dern inexpensive. Wouldn't that amount make more than 140 ml? I use a 50/50 blend, so my thought process is if I have 240 ml total of PG/VG, I should be able to make 240ml of juice? Am I missing something?

I use anywhere from 12mg down to 6mg. Sometimes 12...sometimes 6...and sometimes a mix of 2 equaling about 9. How would I go about diluting down the nic? And...what is the difference between the flavorings and the concentrates that I am seeing on that site?

The Wizard Labs "Flavor Lab" flavors? Yep. Also, Mount Baker (MBV) sells flavors.

Speaking of which, an easy way to get started and play around with DIY is buy from MBV. You can order plain nic juice they premix to a nic level and PG/VG ratio. That saves you the hassle of diluting concentrated nic. Let's you experiment with flavors and get some experience before tackling diluting nic juice down and having to figure out how to get a 48mg down to 12 and hit the PG/VG ratio you want. You can leave that for later...

Yes...I think you have said that to me before. I guess that will probably be the route I will go at first. I guess since most flavors are PG based, and I want a 50/50 blend juice, I should go with a bit higher VG. Like...40PG/60VG so once I add my flavors, it's more on the 50/50 scope?
