I've been meaning to come to this site since I heard about it through Ms. T's Bakery. (thanks for pointing this out on your menu!)
I smoked for about 17-18 years, quitting in 6/2000. I always enjoyed smoking and even though I was long over nicotine cravings, I missed the action of smoking... holding a cigarette, the taste, blowing smoke... especially after a meal or with a cocktail. When I heard about vaping I decided to give it a try with a disposable I saw at the grocers. It was awful! Then I learned about re-usables and the vast array of flavours, and that I could get them with no nicotine.
In the '80s I went to Jenny Craig to lose weight and they had flavour sprays to help people through cravings. (Think Binaca that tastes like cheesecake or brownies) I really liked them and was bummed that I couldn't find them anywhere else. I decided to get a starter kit (I use V2 Cigs) and some nicotine free flavours. I instantly liked the flavourful eSmokes (unlike the disposable I tried) and decided to get juices and blank carts instead of prefills. After some experimentation with several vendors I quickly became a fan of Ms. T's due to the large variety of flavours and quality of the juice.
Now that I had my re-usable kit and a large menu of flavours I was ready to see if my hypothesis was correct... would this help me stave off cravings and lose weight? I'm pleased to say yes, it does. And it's much more satisfying than the Jenny Craig flavour sprays because not only do I get a wide variety of flavour, I satisfy my old penchant for smoking. Vaping has become my quick-fix tool. Instead of a hard candy, I take a few puffs. It fits in my pocket so I can take it anywhere to help lessen temptation to snack. I can also sneak away at friend's homes and have a few puffs in a room by myself and no one is the wiser. I just hope the government keeps it's paws off and doesn't try to regulate as though it was actual smoking.
The next question in my mind is medical uses for eCigs. They're basically mini nebulizers, so why hasn't the pharmaceutical industry capitalized on it and make pocket nebulizers? I'd rather have one of these than the albuterol spray inhaler I use now.
