Just wondering if anyone could share any recent airport security experiences or suggestions on how to travel by air (from YYZ) with one.

Since we have to be at the airport several hours prior, I'd like to be able to use it discretely in the departure area. Do I put it in my purse or carry-on?

Be ready to be F'd with. I took mine to traffic court and got a ticket. It was dismissed after I saw the prosecutor and then everyone of the clerks came in and asked me questions about it. The judge smokes and I wouldn't be suprised if they all start having them in city hall...lol. I think they will ask you all kind of questions and since a lot of people dont know about how they work, they will be angry when you battery up in the plane. It isnt illegal but people are scared of what they dont understand. Let us know what happens. I'm thinking of ordering a Chuck and having it say highly explosive on the case. I'm a rebel.
