I was watching the new episode of Law and Order last night and a lady who was pretty much of a jerk was vaping a Blue. Benson asked her to put out the cigarette out she gave her the defiant look and stated its a ecig.

The scene took place in the jerk lady's home. The sceen made no since to me other than the writer has an antz agenda. First of all why would a police detective think its ok to enter someones home and demand they stop smoking, next why would they use this scenario in a TV drama it did nothing to add to the scene other than to show vapors in a bad light.

My thoughts are in NYC ecigs are under attack from the Bloomberg admin maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe the scene was supposed to further demonstrate Benson as a character that would never last in a real world police department. Worst character in all the Law and Order shows.

but but she was Mis New Jersey a hundred years ago! But I kind of agree out of all the charaters on the show hers is the least interesting. I dont think real police comes in to play in Law and Order;-) Ive always liked it but this season it seems to be going down hill.

As far as why an e-cig in that situation - I didn't see it so I am just spitballing. The only place I've seen them used so far was supposed to be a nerdy character. Maybe Blu thought putting it in the hands of a "bad guy" would make it seem cool. Especially since the lady was putting it back in the pig's face that it isn't smoke.

The actress or the character was Miss New Jersey? Not that it matters.

Real police came into play in the original, at the beginning. That is what made the show, giving people a somewhat accurate look into how the system works.

Is it any surprise the show is going downhill? We just agreed she is a weak character and back when I stopped watching it was becoming more and more about her instead of how the system works. The only character that worked with for me in that way on the franchise was Goren.

I tend to agree that it was just Blu showing their product in a TV show. I find it interesting that no one appears to be upset that you would be told by a cop in your own home to put out the cigarette. She was not being arrested and the last I looked it is not illegal to smoke tobacco in your own home unless there are minors present.
Actually the more the general public sees e-cigs in use the better for all of us and this one was not particularly in a bad light.
