Ok long story but wow...
So I'm hanging out at my local, which is in a nice neighbourhood and a fine little pub with great live music. I've known the owner and the staff and have been patronizing for about 5 years with no issues at all. I DJ there, chagrin, who is now my friend via ECF, knows the place as well.
Ok all is good, I'm having a beer with a friend, a pleasant evening all around. I'm sporting a silver 1000 mah Twist with a Slim Pyrex tank from theecig.com which is very fragile but looks awesome on the Twist (filled with my fav Juggy's Che Cherry Bacco), and a nice brushed silver Ming drip tip. My little unit looks classy and I'm sharing it with my friend and letting a couple of curious onlookers try it out. And then...
A women asked to try it, she takes it in her hand, takes the tank off of the battery and puts her hands behind her back. Viola, she now has empty hands. Where is my ecig I ask. I don't know she says. And on and on. Apparently it has disappeared and I'm not in any mood to deal with a young drunk idiot who wants to play games. I press on, she plays dumb. I'm losing my patience. I start to lose my temper. I turn her around and find the Twist battery in the back of her pants. I grab it. I demand to know where the rest of my ecig is. The game goes on and on. I get angrier and angrier. She still plays dumb. I'm now yelling. I finally resort to dialing 911. I just want my stuff back. The bar staff had looked on the floor with flashlights to no avail.
So the cops show up, and I have to explain what she took. Declare the value (around $40-50 or more with shipping and trouble) and try to explain what it is. I show them my other Twist and tank and SS tip so they have an idea. They are a bit dumbfounded (!), but check her purse and handcuff her, all the while she's playing the drunk idiot who doesn't know what's going on. In the meantime the male cops had to call for a female police officer to come and search the woman's body. When the other car showed up with the female officer, one of the male officers found my tank and drip tip in tack on the floor in the bar. By then there were six officers at the scene and the drunk woman was handcuffed. The female officer however had to stop me because she was curious: what is it that she took, what is that? I hastily explained and the cops just nodded their heads and walked away.
Oh drama! The weirdest part was that it was all about an ecig and the cops just didn't know what to make of it. What, an ecig with value? What is the fuss about? What did she steal? Why are you freaking out? What is that exactly?
Very trying experience. Just some random highly annoying drunk person but the context made it a story worthy of sharing on ECF.
Watch your gear everyone
. Now I won't share my gear with bar patrons as generously as I used to. A shame...
